When you joined this forum - what was your story?

1) What was your "status" when you joined up?
Relationship with a man. Slowly falling in love with another man.

2) What were you hoping to get from this forum/site?
Dont know, I googled something, this side showed up and I wanted to take part in the discussion.

3) Has either of those changed since you joined?
Yes, I left the man I was with when I joined this site and have a relationship with the other one. I thank gor everyday I made this decision.

I was and am currently married.

2) What were you hoping to get from this forum/site?
I was looking for light conversation. I'm also interested in people's views on various topics.

3) Has either of those changed since you joined?
My status is still the same and I still enjoy the interaction. Looking to do more 'chatting' when other are out there.

 

I found this site chatting with a friend. I only joined a couple weeks ago, but I have learned a great deal. I was single when I joined and am still single. I wasn't looking to hook up with anyone. I just needed somewhere to go to have intelligent conversation, somewhere to laugh and let my hair down. I was so impressed when I started reading the threads with the mature replies and opinions. It's good to see people can discuss important issues without getting ugly and personal. I know it's happened a couple of times, but for the most part it's pretty laid back on here. It's nice to post a comment and not have someone say, "Hi nice to meet you, want to cyber?" I used to chat on the net all of the time, but quit because it seemed like that was all anyone ever talked about. It's too soon for me to know where this will take me, but I look forward to more great conversations. I have enjoyed this a great deal and wish everyone the best! ~*KG*~

 

1. When I joined my "status" was funny and kind of up in the air because my man of 9 years and I are experiencing some hardships. I'm sensing a break up, so sometimes I talk as if I'm already single, a "preparing for the worst" in an effort to minimize any shock or devastation, defense mechanism sort of thing, I guess. But now I'm feeling more positive about things, and my status is actually taken, and I do really hope it will stay that way for the rest of our lives like we've always planned.

2. What I was/am hoping to get from this site is friends. Friends who won't judge and/or joke about my IR relationship. Who are more understanding and intelligent, and more or less feel the same as myself. Some common grounds.

3. Nope.

I always hate to hear stories like this Athena. Sounds like he's getting exactly what he deserves now, though. Apparently the family he had at home was not too important to him to do this for 15 months... hell, 15 minutes is too much. He certainly deserves to lose them.

 

I agree with Jaisee. Your story was unfortunate to everyone involved. You did the right thing. And you are right: always trust you're gut!
