It was me that JB was after, and BA did take a stand against what was said, and his disapproval was clear and amusing as usual. Though I'm perfectly capable of defending myself, and would never expect anyone else to do that on my behalf, it was sweet of BA and appreciated. In general if one adult is engaging another adult on the forum, I don't feel it my place to rally to anyone's defense. That's largely because from what I've observed pretty much everyone on here can take care of themselves. However at the point someone moves from engaging to attacking, or uses racist dialog, or starts spouting stereotypes and prejudice to support their 'opinion', they can expect to hear from me. I have no issue with free speech, but I do take issue with picking on someone just for the sake of inflicting misery, pain, or embarrassment. Act like an adult, get treated like an adult. Act like a bratty snot nosed kid... well, you get the point.
Rent this flick you'll laugh your ass off. It's in Liverpool everything they say is funny. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1071880/
Francie you are a very intelligent woman, these women are not on your level at all, they must really hate you lol
I adore francie. She's smart, she's witty, she's an independent thinker, she's kind and she's fun. What's not to love?
And about the "brotha points" in the topic, I burned my ghetto pass a long time ago I don't care if I never go back (not that I was actually raised in a ghetto...lol)
Good observation, Jaye... I used to date a woman that has a white mother & black father and has a very light complexion, in atlanta, and even though it was obvious she is part of the black community I still noticed a lot of hating from other BW. I think it's primarily a regoinal issue. "Hotlanta" pushes itself as a chocolate city and that's such a major part of its social identity. The black-on-black hating is just as thick as the accents there. It's kinda sad. Likewise I have seen IR dating be less contentious in Fla. And that is an interesting point considering it is even further south and a vast population of the state is older stick-in-the-mud thinkers. What makes a city/area stay in a lame state of mind... that would be an interesting study. I notice up here the difference in attitudes towards IR dating in DC versus Baltimore. B'more seems to be like 15 years back socially, and I never quite understood why. :smt102
I was born and raised in Atlanta and I had my first experience with white girls in high school. At the time I openly dated a white girl and my black female english teacher pulled me to the side in the hallway one day and told me that I was headed for trouble (because I was with a white girl). Needless to say I never forgot that moment because in my school there were quite a few "afrocentric" black girls dating white boys and it was no issue. I really couldn't understand it at first. a warning to anybody coming to live in Atlanta: The black people in Atlanta are more conservative than they appear.
It's funny how the Black girls never get pulled to the side for dating white boys. Hypocrisy from BW is sending Brothers over the wall in DROVES.
