Yep... you do live in the wrong state I think. Alabama is like.... pro white. I work in Alabama often, especially in Montgomery. Women there seem to not pay me any mind at all until they find out that Im in the military. Suddenly things change and they notice the cologne Im wearing, etc. Suddenly I have a sexy ass. Everything switches from Sir to Sweetie because they view me as not just a black man, he is a soldier, and my daddy was in the military too...LOL Its so damn funny to me even though its a very serious issue called racism.


I know what you mean and how you feel. When my son was a little boy he was head over heels for a little girl from Turkey. She explained to him that she can be friends in school with him but thats it. Why?? Because her parents told her to stick with her own kind.

I wanted to choke the shit out of her father at the bus stop because my son was so hurt over that. I didnt teach him to not accept anyone who was not black or white as his mother and I are. He didnt know anything about the country Turkey either.

His reply to her was.... But I like Turkey!!!

It hurt me so bad when he told me his story. At that point I had to teach him about the world which I tried so hard to shelter him from. Sucks!!!

Well I too understand your frustration... but a better understanding of the true causes will help you to wade through this era........It is not so much that people need to teach their children that you are "aren't worth dating"......It is more the fucked-up image profile your tens of thousands of wayward brothers have created for you and are steadily re-enforcing. It is the many negative visible examples everywhere that make the case for your girls family.....They don't even have to work hard to sway or convince her.....Something as simple as the senseless crime in opening segments of the local evening news and the disproportionate number of our mug shots is what makes the case for the family that we...... can be a high-risk proposition.......Where is the rationale in hitching up with a burdensome loser.........What will ultimately make the difference for you personally is when you can move to isolated your self far enough away from the mayhem, to establish your self and make own independent impression on the whitewomen around you.........

 

These stories, especially jays one are heartbreaking. I carry my own fair share of faults and misconceptions and judgements however I can't understand how you can look at another HUMAN and not see them as such.
*sigh* it's very sad to see all the ways in which we fail to be that which we actually are.
