ummm not even remotely what I am saying. We all seem to respect boundaries everywhere else. If women want to have all women environments any encroachment by a man well meaning or otherwise is quickly struck down because we are suppose to respect boundaries. I think that you have missed my point. Empathy towards others does not require that one experiences the exact same things. I will never know how it feels to be an Australian aborigine woman or a Tibetan man or a Peruvian child or Nigerian oil tycoon or a POW in a military prison camp however I am capable of having a general understanding of the overall emotions involved as a part of the human experience which allows me to empathize or relate with their respective joy or pain or suffering or triumph. Have you ever watched a foreign film and were so connected to the story and the characters that the subtitles became nearly irrelevant? Our ability to empathize and have connections with other humans transcends race/color/culture/national origin/religion.
DK is correct. Not every person has to be invited to everything. Not everybody I meet gets invited to my birthday party or my wedding or even my funeral. Doesn't mean I "hate" those people, just means that the event is not geared towards their inclusion or they are not on my inner circle. Once a celebrity was having a kid and a fan found out and knew the hospital and took it upon himself to drop in on an event that should have been on of the celebrities fondest personal moments. The point is sometimes ones mere presence can be an intrusion no matter how well the intention.
