Chicago: Experiencing Shootings every week, Going Unnoticed

*I am going to edit the "my city alone' part bc we have surrounding counties too, which I didn't mention with the number amount so I want to ensure the info is correctly received...

I love what has happened to NYC...its reputation (overseas too) was very grim in terms of safety.....When I walk the streets there as much as I do now, I JUST LOVE it. I LOVE visiting NYC! My hats off the its people all working towards it's quality of life. And didn't it start at the petty level, aka pan-handling, window washing...and worked its way up?

 

Yep, New York City used to be one of those places you heard of and the crime rate was the first thing that came to mind.

All those years for Rudy Guiliani as a prosecutor and bringing down Italian mobsters prepared him for the job as mayor and tackling crime.

New York saw a complete drop in murders, rapes, robberies, etc. Something that continues to this day. Not easy to do in the largest populated city in America.

 

Hmmm it is being reported that three black males killed a white male student at the University of Mississippi this Saturday. Some talking radio heads are already making hay of this. In my home town Baltimore there were 196 murders last year alone mostly black males. Many of the killings are unknown. Maybe there is open hunting season on black males. Maybe there is a tit for tat going on. Maybe there a "War on Black Males".

 

Yeah I heard about that story.

Don't know why those dudes were on campus if they don't attend the university or what brought them there.

Either way hope they are caught and dealt with.

As for the radio heads, they will speak on whatever they want and certainly don't need this to do so.

Some are still talking about O.J.

What they don't realize is O.J. had money, so that is why he could beat the rap. most other black men would have been rotting away in the pen. by now in the same situation. Showing you what really has power in America. Dollar bills and high priced attorneys when facing justice.

 

Just 2 weeks ago 49 were shot, 10 killed over the weekend in Chicago.

Now we have 15 and 2 dead in one night. National guard should be called out in my opinion.

No just an undeniable correlation between high unemployment and high crime. Just pointing out that's why shit like this happens. You see it parts of Syria, The Congo, The Caribbean, parts of Latin America, eastern European countries. Its pretty common especially in a place like the US that manufactures so many guns. So I'm not surprised.

 

I say this every time. Fuck going to Chicago. Yeah, it's only a few bad areas, but fuck it. It was never on my travel list anyway.

who hates solely due to phenotypes? Seems unreasonable, I understand those who are territorial and distrust differences, but I believe the prevailing perceptions assigned to skin color(s) actually cause something as strong as hate.
