Black Irish is a traditional term that is commonly used among Irish American communities to describe a dark brown or black hair phenotype appearing in Caucasian people of Irish descent. This can be distinguished in contrast to the (lighter) brown, blond or red hair color variant, the latter stereotypically perceived to personify the look of typical Irish folk. Last year I paid for a DNA trace test from a company called "African Ancestry" http://www.africanancestry.com/ and I discovered that my "Y" chromosome can be traced all the way back to Irish origin. I highly recommend them to anyone curious about their heritage.
hmmmm i lived in belfast until recently and only saw 1 black man in that whole time thou there were a small group on asians hopefully if the fighting stops and stays stopped more people will go over there

A lot of Irish dated black men here in the US because while most states had laws against miscengination (sp), most didnt consider Irish immigrants to be "white". So a lot of black Americans can trace their mitoDNA to Ireland. Just some useless facts. LOL
Not a useless fact, actually! My great great grandfather is a perfect example of what you're talking about. He is an Irish man who experienced those exact problems you mentioned.

I found the dating site and saw there was a free forum so I joined. Im a WW (which I think is a cute abbreviation), and I was in one LTR with a BM and I'd like to be in another, but I wouldnt say its a fetish or anything. Mostly I find that black guys are more accepting, or at least not as rude, about the fact that I am a thick girl. I wouldnt say Im here to meet anyone but if that happened, I wouldn't shy away. When i first browsed and ghosted this forum before joining i was single and looking to mingle . As time go buy and I sit on the sideline and look around I really would like to meet and talk to a nice down to earth girl . I'm just realizing I joined in January. I guess I just peeked in from time to time originally and didn't post, kinda just watched the action through the window. Hard to believe I joined this site back in 2003. Doesn't seem like it has been six years. I was 35 at the time, and single with no kids. I joined to hear and particpate in intelligent conversation about what it was like to be involved and seek out interracial relationships. Like most people I wanted to hear other people's opinions about how they deal with family and friends, where they were meeting their partners, etc. Some of the conversations have been worthwhile, some have been just stupid. It was at a time when I was participating in other interracial chat sites like Blackenize and wf4bm. I only ever met one person from these sites. It was a very fun night of drinks with a very nice lady in the Philadelphia area. Never seemed to be many site members in any of the areas I was living at the time, so actually dating off one of these sites was never a real option. Now on course to be married; I met my future wife just four months after I joined this site, and thru a normal channel...mutual friends. I suggest it highly! I still pop in on occassion to dispense information or see what the hop topics are. Now I'm 41, still no kids, and finally in the committed relationship I've been looking for.
