parking's a bitch. but as a single person...there's plenty of security not including the police. I go out by myself at night ..and there's no problem. I'm not a club person...but there's plenty of things on Beale...try Midtown as well.they have a lot of cute resturants(?) the Cooper-Young district is nice as well. whatever you interest are..you'll be sure to find something to your liking.
My brother & his wife live in the Cooper-Young area. They go to Bosco's alot, I've gone with them before. I've never really gone to clubs either.

go to open door concerts like the Memphis In May festivals, etc. check out the Orpheum...that's where I go for the Summer Movie Festival.
