I liked Black Widow nothing to write home about just liked it. It's worth maybe a 3 time watch. Not worth $30 to watch at home, but it was worth the $8 at the show. But the send off to Natasha was excellent and deserved.

 

Box Office: Debuts With $80 Million in Theaters, $60 Million on Disney Plus


Disney and Marvel’s superhero adventure “Black Widow” captured a massive $80 million in its first weekend, crushing the benchmark for the biggest box office debut since the pandemic.

The film, starring Scarlett Johansson, is the first from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to open simultaneously in movie theaters and on Disney Plus, where subscribers can rent “Black Widow” for an extra $30. Disney reported that “Black Widow” generated more than $60 million “in Disney Plus Premier Access consumer spend globally,” marking the rare occasion in which a studio disclosed the profits made from streaming.

Directed by Cate Shortland, “Black Widow” collected an additional $78 million from 46 international territories, boosting its global box office haul to an impressive $158 million. Combined with Disney Plus numbers, the final weekend figure sits at $215 million. Curbing overall ticket sales, however, is the fact that “Black Widow” still doesn’t have a release date in China, which is an all-important moviegoing market for the Marvel franchise.

Netflix Cancels Fantasy Series Cursed After One Season


Cursed will not return for season 2. Netflix has canceled the fantasy drama after only one season. No official reason has been given, but it's been speculated that low viewing figures may be a factor.

The show, which premiered on the streamer in July 2020, was a re-imagining of the legend of King Arthur told from the point of view of Nimue, a young woman played by Katherine Langford, who is destined to become the doomed Lady of the Lake. Nimue is shunned from her village as she is believed to be cursed, but after she is gifted with a mysterious sword it seems like she is the only one who can save them.

So Netflix is now the Fox Network of streaming services. Puts out shows that gain a fanbase/following & then cancels them after only 1-2 seasons.

So what exactly is the REAL reason unless they were lying about it's popularity last year which I doubt.

Very dissapointing. This was up their with The Witcher and GoT in one of those really good fantasy action medieval fiction shows. Hopefully another platform will pick it up.

Netflix has always been quick to cancel usually its 3 season then axe. Seems to be getting a shorter leash due to being under pressure.
The problem is figuring out why Netflix does anything is hard cause we don't have their metrics.

 

Could have been a female Bourne Supremacy if they hadn't tripled down on the obnoxious feminism. The two male leads were a buffoon and evil. Not even a glimpse of Red Guardian in his prime. Gender-flipped Taskmaster was the last straw for me. Thunderbolt Ross was wasted in this. I wasn't huge on Florence Pugh either with her chubby face. How did Natasha's fixer get a whole-ass Quinjet? After credit scene was wack. Scar Jo went out sad.

Loki Season 2 Confirmed



Marvel has revealed that there will indeed be a second season of Loki via an insert in a post-credits scene in the final episode of season 1.

 

As much as they try to make this a semi Batman centric show, they should have just called it Outsiders & put characters tied to Batman & the Outsiders in it rather than any Titans related characters.

 

Yeah I head they really wanted to do a Nightwing show but got forced to make a Titans show and it shows @Ra.

This is not a Titans Show and the cast is too big as well. It has what a dozen relevant characters...Doom Patrol keeps the focus on a much smaller cast.

 

I felt exactly the same about Red Guardian and Pugh. She’s a good actor. No doubt. She just doesn’t, physically, fit the part. She’s not ugly. She just does not look like a superhero. She looks like an everyday, midwestern chick. And, there’s nothing wrong with that in real life. That’s just not what I want see in a superhero setting. Unless, it’s a joke like “Thicc Thor.”

Dude having a quinjet didn’t bother me because it looked like it was cobbled together from pieces of wrecked quintets. It didn’t look all pristine and Stark Industries new. It looked a little rough around the edges. Like it was a salvage job.

I could have road with Taskmaster not being what we wanted as long as the personality was the same. The mindless terminator schtick just didn’t cut it and is tired, anyway.

Shit, I’m still pissed about not getting a good Bane.

 

Damn it I told you it needed to validate its MA rating with some lust & passion to hold the casual audience!! Netflix should have known better! Damn this series had potential!!!

 

The M-She-U is beginning to piss me off. Between this and the Prince of Evil Loki being a guest star in his own show to a blond chick, and the botched Kang reveal, I'm about done.

 

It took them a DECADE to give us the "real" Mandarin, nobody's got time to waste. Think about it, Stark is long dead and we're just now getting one of his greatest foes. Eyeroll. Give us the real shit upfront.
