Yeah, overall, I thought Loki was a let down. Very “blah.” It was like Dr. Who withot the wit, the humor or the swashbuckling energy. I didn’t mind the Sylvie character. The actress was good, but again, just another plain Jane chick. The guys are heroic, good looking, often buff, heartthrobs (as they should be), but the girls are usually just okay, looks wise. That seems to be the trend, now. Scar-Jo was the last truly hot chick we’re going to see in these types of roles for a while. I don’t really think that was Kang. Kang is coming, but that wasn’t him. Watch.
I actually really liked Loki, I thought it did a good job of setting up all the crazy crossover magic and mutants stuff that coming down the line. There were some dull moments but overall it expanded the MCU more than any other property has, snd it has many genuinely interested to see where the implications of what happened takes the MCU.
So, I know I’m super late to the party. I’m not much of a gamer. Actually, I’m not a gamer at all. But, I picked up Batman: Arkham Knight for PC for around 6 bucks a while back. I’m huge Batman fan and at $6 and some change, I figured, I’d check it out. Got a cheap controller, installed the game on my PC and tried to play. Well, my PC wasn’t powerful enough. It kept choking and whatever. So, I just forgot about it. Fast forward to a couple months ago when I read about Shadow PC. I decided to give it a try. So, I installed my copy of Batman:AK on it. It worked nicely. That shit is fun af. All of the different stuff you get to do as Batman. It’s just not one thing. You’re just not beating up bad guys (though there’s tons of that, too), you’re solving shit, you’re driving the Batmobile, and I’m sure there’s more things yet to do in the game. I’m only about 30% into the game. So, I don’t know for sure. But, based on what I’ve played so far, this game is just so fkn sweet. I’m having a ball. When I finish, I think I’ll go back and play the previous Batman Arkham games. I don’t think I’ll get into gaming much beyond this set of games. But, for now, it’s a very cool way to kill a few minutes in the evening.
It did do a good job of setting up what’s to come and it did expand the MCU. I’ll give them that. I just wanted the storytelling to be stronger.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf Castlevania's Theo James stars as a younger Vesemir in this animated prequel leading to The Witcher Season Two.
Leslie Grace, known for her breakout role in #IntheHeights, has been cast to play #Batgirl in the upcoming movie for HBO Max. The film will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the duo behind 'Bad Boys for Life,' from a script by Christina Hodson http://thr.cm/MwBteYh
The animation style & voice cast looks & sounds too much like the Castlevania Anime Series that just ended. I'll still watch though....
MAN OF STEEL Writer David S. Goyer Reveals A Baffling Script Note He Was Given By Warner Bros. If you need proof that Warner Bros. just doesn't get its DC Comics superheroes, look no further than Man of Steel writer David S. Goyer receiving a baffling script note from the studio... Man of Steel was released back in 2013 to mostly positive reviews, though it certainly generated a lot of discussion online (primarily in regards to the high death count in the final act). One part of the Zack Snyder-helmed movie that was well-received, however, were those scenes set on Krypton. The filmmaker devoted a lot of time to exploring the destruction of the planet, giving Jor-El more screentime than ever before and better explaining what led to Kal-El being sent to Earth. David S. Goyer penned Man of Steel's screenplay, and in a lengthy chat with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed a baffling script note given to him by Warner Bros. "One note I got was on Man of Steel, where the ending involves Superman utilizing the pod that he arrived in as a child in order to bring down General Zod’s ship," Goyer said. "The note we got from the studio said, 'You have to change that.' We asked why. They said, 'Because if Superman uses that pod and it’s destroyed while saving the city, how is he ever going to get back home to Krypton?' There was just this long pause and we said, 'Krypton blew up. You saw 30 minutes of it!'" Yes, the studio had such a lack of understanding about Superman that they actually thought he needed a ship to travel back to Krypton with. Putting aside the fact that his planet being destroyed is a pivotal part of the comic books, these executives actually saw it blow up in Man of Steel, and still didn't get it. So, yeah, it's fair to say the DCEU might not be in the safest of hands. There is a new regime at Warner Bros. now, of course, and we're keeping everything crossed The Suicide Squad doesn't disappoint (it's probably pretty safe with the director of two great Marvel Studios movies at the helm).
RUMOR: Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin Will Appear on Hawkeye Series Reported new details about Spider-Man: No Way Home and Disney+'s Hawkeye series have emerged, with the latter potentially set to see the return of Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin. A moderator for r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers shared a reported inside scoop on Hawkeye, claiming D'Onofrio will appear as Wilson "The Kingpin" Fisk on the series. This would mark his return as the character after serving as the villain on Netflix's Daredevil series, which is no longer considered MCU canon. If true, it would align with other recent reports of Marvel Studios finding ways to bring various Defenders characters into the MCU films and TV shows. The report also claims that Hawkeye will tie into Spider-Man: No Way Home. According to the info, Hawkeye will arrive in November, which confirms recent reports about a fall release date. While this all but confirms Ms. Marvel will debut in October, it also means Hawkeye's reported six-episode first season will overlap with Spider-Man 3's December release. The rumor states that this is because Hawkeye will connect with the new Spider-Man film. In fact, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, long rumored to be in Spider-Man 3, was supposed to be on Hawkeye before scheduling conflicts led to D'Onofrio returning instead. And with D'Onofrio campaigning to be in the next Spider-Man, the Daredevil villain could appear in the film as well. The rumor also claims that Kingpin will appear on Echo, the Hawkeye spinoff show in the works for hero Maya Lopez. That show is also reported to feature Cox's Daredevil. It was previously rumored that Murdock will appear on She-Hulk, uniting Marvel's two most famous lawyers. Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones is also rumored to appear on She-Hulk. For now, these are all rumors, but more evidence is emerging that Marvel Studios wants to keep some of the most critically acclaimed actors from the Netflix shows as the characters they helped bring to life. Earlier this year, another rumor claimed D'Onofrio, Ritter, Cox, and Jon Bernthal, who played Punisher, were all set to join the MCU officially. All of these cameos could eventually lead to canon Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Punisher shows once Marvel is able to establish the heroes in the MCU and distance themselves from The Defenders universe. Outside of the rumors, Hawkeye will feature Yelena Belova from Black Widow and introduce Kate Bishop's Hawkeye and new hero Echo. Given how popular D'Onofrio's take on Kingpin was, he'd likely be a welcome addition to the growing cast.
@Ra That is not a shocker lol....you expect them to know the basic origin of one of their top IPs but WB is shit.
That's why they (WB studio executives) shouldn't even be allowed to have any creative input on anything dealing with comic book movie properties. Input on budget or general production, yes. Creative input, no.
Indeed it just amazes me DC couldn't get shit off the ground. They have had better Animated Products and Videogames then Marvel until recently. But never capitalized on it.
