Thank you, GirlieGirl, and everyone else who has responded. I am sorry to be so negative, but I just feel so bad. So sad. At least over the weekend I was angry, but now the adrenaline rush is gone and all I want to do is cry, and I have been (apologies to the guys and anyone else who hates tears). I know its stupid, but I just can't believe he could do this; that I actually bought into all the crap he said about a future together, and how I was so special and important to him and his son. I have been married and been in a relationship or two, I'm not a fool, and thought I was a pretty good judge of people. I'm not saying he was "the one" but I love him and even though I know he is a loser and doesn't deserve me, that doesn't really help too much right now cause I just feel so bad. Despite my bravado of the earlier posts, I would never confront, not my style. Who knows if I will even go back and get my stuff? Again, apologies to all for my personal pity party - as usual, I am not really posting on the appropriate thread, but I didn't think "Karand found out her man is a cheater" would get a lot of hits. You guys are all great.
aaah, vacation is all done for now........
I had a great time swimming, sailing, diving and snorkeling. Unfortunately the crowsnest didn't work out as someone was living on the boat this month but hey there's always next time!
In my new apartment (moved last night) and I love the view of the sea. This is heavenly!
How are you all??????

It's hot as balls in Los Angeles.
Found out yesterday (for sure) that my man is cheating on me. Just got back from a three hour session with his other girlfriend and I really like her! We are planning some kind of joint confrontation this week, since he continues to deny to both of us separately that anything is going on. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that I'm one of the unluckiest people ever :|
I'm not going to Russia so my degree might be completely fucked. We don't know yet.
For the last few weeks we've been trying to sort out a student visa and have had very little responce from the application centre.
This deserves its own thread because there are A LOT of people on this forum with bad luck and you're nowhere near the bottom of the pile.
For the uninformed, perhaps you should explain why your degree is contingent upon studying in Russia? If it is languages you're studying, one would hope that your qualifications should be met through demonstrating written and/or spoken fluency regardless of traveling anywhere.
Bureaucracies can be the least responsive form of government, because employees are not popularly elected and they tend to be self-regulating bodies. You do, however, pay the salaries of everyone working there, so hound them until they bleed.
I also assume that you've gotten in touch with the people of significance at your university and gave them a preliminary rundown of your current situation. The next step may involve asking for reprieve should the universe decide to conspire and fuck you out of your degree. Fight back!
Odessa may be an option because they teach Russian in the Ukraine and have quite a lot of Russian tourism there. But again, I don't speak Ukranian.
God damn. And I thought shit was bad for my school shit. That really is fucked up. Not only is the school system dickin' you around, but your countries, too. Damn.I'm pretty sure that I'm one of the unluckiest people ever :|

For the last few weeks we've been trying to sort out a student visa and have had very little responce from the application centre. I had to go to London on my own once, they said everything was fine. Then the next day I got a phonecall saying that the Russian consulate was refusing to give me a visa because I was born there and I still have Russian citizenship.
The funny thing is, when my mum tried to get a Russian passport for me a few years back they refused. They said that I didn't have citizenship and I couldn't get a visa and there was no way for me to have joint citizenship.
So we just got on with it and I lived happily ever after with my British citizenship.
Except not.
Except, I still have a Russian citizenship (apparently, unless you ask the president via letter, you can't get rid of it) and can't have a visa for my English passport.
A Russian visa will take three months. My course finishes in three months.
So yeah. Flight = £220. Visa = £140. Insurance = £80. Travel to London = £80. Visa invitation fee = £100. Russian beaurocracy = Priceless.
I can't get any of my money back, not a penny. And I'm pretty fucking skint, to put it nicely.
But it's not even that, this means that I'll either have to swap round my year abroad destinations and go to Spain first, defer a year or drop out completely.
Obviously, I'm trying to see if any Spanish universities will take me for the autumn term. No reply so far since it's very short notice. I really, really don't want to defer a year. And drop out... well. I don't want to end up working as a full time cleaner in Tescos.
So fuck knows. I'm just holding out for one of the Spanish universities, Obviously Uruguay isn't a possibility now but I don't even care anymore, I'll be happy if anyone takes me.
And as for Russia? I don't even know if I can go when I get my Russian passport because yeah, then I can get into Russia, but how will I get out? Will I need a visa to come to England even though I already have a British passport? They don't look too kindly onto joint-citizenship.
I might get the opportunity to study Russian in Odessa, the head of Russian said he'd make an exception for me but I would have to arrange everything myself. And you know, I don't speak any Ukranian.
So yeah. Future's looking a bit grim at the moment.
Also, never go to any Russian consulates or embassies. They are the rudest, least helpful, meanest people in the world. My mum and I were both in tears after ten minutes.
Your stories about your parents never fail to crack me up!!Got scarred by my god damn mom. Muthafuckin' woke me up and told me to listen out for the doorbell so "Mandingo..........Man can't do the yard work". And I'm thinkin' "What the fuck did you just say? Are you fuckin' shittin' me? As if you ain't scarred me the fuck enough, god dammit fuckin' fuck!" I better not hear some damn shit like that again. Ewww.
I was sworn in last Friday August 28th, along with 3500 other people as an American citizen. I got my Certificate of Naturalization and I applied for a US passport book and a passport card as soon as the ceremony was over. They both should be coming in the mail in about a week or so. Now I can visit 155 countries without the need of a visa and stay up to 90 days.
Pretty soon I am going start screaming "Yay, we're number 1!"![]()
