I saw it myself and I was actually pretty impressed by what they've done. DC is far better suited for animated movies than live action, as I've stressed numerous times.

For this...I'm somewhat surprised they decided to "deepen" Darkseid's voice because apparently there were needs to make him sound more sinister. It's highly understandable.

    Overall: 8/10

Going for Luthor as an evil Bill Gates/Mark Zuckerberg nerd genius type businessman is my guess.

'Nebbish' is right. My 12-year old wouldn't even find him menacing.

Jeremy Irons as Alfred is a good choice, then again, Ben Cross(Chariots Of Fire)and so might Patrick Stewart can also pull it off. Jeremy Irons has that talent that can make any character he portrays realistic and very believeable. We can go on about which actor was the best Alfred(be it Alan Napier, Michael Gough or Michael Caine), but it would be a moot point because Alfred serves an important purpose. Alfred is Bruce Wayne's butler, valet, friend, confidant, and caregiver. This isn't about Alfred. It's about The Bat Man.

The casting seems off just like a lot of these other comic related movies & TV shows because the Hollywood crowd involved are basically from the same fan turned pro school that have been doing the out of character takes on the actual comic book end of things for years now. The majority of these guys that currently write on the comic end have ultimate goals of being writers/directors in Hollywood, which is why comics have been doing all these reboots & re-imagining of characters on a seemingly regular basis & writers are doing these short story arc runs on multiple characters one after another because they are trying to sell their "storytelling" abilities to the Hollywood crowd.

I avoid watching anything from SyFy since there's nothing remotely interesting on that network.

At least when it was Sci-Fi, while cheesy, it had some shows that were remotely decent and entertaining.
