Someone here will vote for Trump ?

When we vote, we have the power (albeit small) to make government a little better or worse. In turn, our votes have the power to effect the lives of others for better or worse. If we make bad choices at the polls, we end up with less than desirable outcomes.

On the other hand, if we don't turn up at the polls to vote, we are allowing others to make those choices for us, ultimately forming and shaping the way our world will work and how we will live with those decisions.

Voting changes the quality, scope, and kind of government we will be forced to live with. The way we vote can help or harm people.

I personally would rather take the time to educate myself about each candidate and their stand on all of the underlying issues, and especially consider their character.

I urge anyone not to just sit idle and opt to not vote simply because you don't like the choices. Most feel similarly but there is so much more at stake when you really think about things in perspective.

Yep, looks like I'm voting for Trump...

I'll admit we can pick any one incident of her racially tinged faux pas and explain it away. However, once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

I hope your right about her acquiescing to the progressives in the Democratic party, However I have read about her keeping political "hit lists" of people she feels have betrayed her. https://www.washingtonpost.com/blog...4/01/13/book-hillary-clinton-kept-a-hit-list/
So I wonder if she is going to take her defeat of Bernie as an opportunity to bury the agendas of the Democrats (Bernie supporters) she feels are disloyal to her.

If you think keeping a chart of who you top political allies are, those who were your top supporters then switched to back your opponent, or those who flat out betrayed you, is somehow unethical or immoral for a politician I don't know what to say to you.:smt069

All campaigns do it.

Washington, D.C. is the biggest bureaucracy in the world and if you don't know who you friends and enemies are, you're presidency or time as an elected official is doomed before it ever gets started.

Obama has had his policies and legislative agenda not only blocked by Congress, but also by conservative high level appointees across the city who because of their resentment of him refused to do their jobs.

Why do you think there were so many problems with the Secret Service and why Obama worked to get the director of the SS replaced??

That's called knowing who your enemies are and removing them.

Hillary can't put the entire Sanders coalition on a hit-list, that's the progressive base of the Democratic party.

I am well aware of the low standards that we hold our political leaders to in our society. In any other circumstance the keeping of a revenge list would be considered the act of a psychopath.

Anyway, since keeping Trump out of office is the real issue, and I'm not Bernie-or-bust. I guess I'm now a begrudging Hillary supporter.

So there I'll be come November.

If Humpfhy Dumbthy wins, we may say goodbye to all and every single international relationship we ever had. The rest of the world is having a good laugh at him even running and nobody will ever want to have anything to do with us.

If he wins, I'm an leaving this country the very same day. It will be a nightmare. I have been here since 94 and lately this country I love so much is circling the drain. Becoming more and more backwards.

There are no real candidates I would truly support, I like Sanders, but unfortunately. I don't think it's realistic for this country. I have some issues with Clinton of course. But for people to NOT vote because of that, you might as well vote for Trumph. It's idiotic to not vote and Shame on you!!!!!!

That is not a demonstration of disapproval. It doesn't work like that. You HAVE to use your power to vote, if your perfect choice currently doesnt exist. Then support the second best, or we will have a state that regulates media and other fascistic issues. And it's your fault because you didn't vote against Trumph. He will be the new era of fachism, that we hoped died with Franco.
Geeezzzz people. Use your right to vote!!!!! It's even more important in a race like this, where there are no clear candidates, or you pick the worst one by default. I'm packing already
Actually - the decline had started in the 1980's, FG. That was because people started to lose trust with one another at that time. For roughly the last 35 years, it has been declining not just there, but in many other indicators as well. Leaving the country is not going to solve your problems because international relations will worsen if Trump were to win the presidency.

Disagree, we are a swing state with a pretty good balance of liberals, moderates and conservatives. Marijuana advocates are going to win this time around.
It also has a pretty good balance of people that are insane/mentally ill as well.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...na-grimmie-shot-after-florida-concert-n590161

Former "The Voice" contestant Christina Grimmie died after being shot as she signed autographs following a concert in Orlando, Florida, on Friday night, police said. The attacker then fatally shot himself.

The 22-year-old was meeting with fans after opening for the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live when the shooting occurred at 10:24 p.m. ET, according to Orlando police. The concert had ended less than a half-hour earlier.

The attacker was carrying two guns when he walked up to Grimmie and opened fire, police said.

"Christina's brother immediately tackled the suspect stopping him from causing any more harm to Christina and her fans. During the struggle, the suspect shot himself," the Orlando Police Department said in a statement.

Robert Vance is being held in Pasco County Jail in Florida after he drove his car over a man and a woman on a motorcycle. He was charged with aggravated battery, leaving the scene of a crash with injuries and being a habitual traffic offender. (Sgt. Steve Gaskins)

The collision happened after “a few choice words” were traded, according to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report.

It was captured on video, in a clip that lasts about nine seconds.
That footage shows a silver car near a motorcycle on a Florida road. Suddenly, the car swerves toward the motorcycle, knocking it down — along with the motorcycle’s driver and passenger.

The car barrels over the motorcycle before speeding off.
Beasty, you should've stayed living in DC. Florida is a mess!

This is the most disturbing .gif I've seen on the interwebz in a long time.:smt103lol

I don't think I'm being too dramatic at all. Sure America has always been a divided country, and we've always had divisive elections, but not even the racially tinged 2008 and 2012 elections have we seen such open and intentional calls for mayhem being directed from a front running candidate. Trump has created a new low standard for American politics. Think about it like this, have you ever heard of a candidate (before Trump ) for the highest office in the land, have his campaign strategy be accurately synchronized with the rise of Adolf Hitler?
I feel it too. If it was Obama running for a third term instead of Clinton, this election would be the same way - if not even worse. Also, what I have noticed is that there is a lot of unrest within the Hispanic community due to Trump's rise (view the article below). Some of those things that I've seen over the past few days are quite bizarre. It showed people jumping on civilian cars, fighting police, destroying police vehicles, deployment of tear gas, grenades, etc.

Do you think it is possible, that having multiculturalism leads to social unrest and truly doesn't work for us as human beings, regardless of where you are in the world? Look at Asia for instance. Asia is hypothetically 99% Asian. Japan. Japan is hypothetically 99% Japanese, etc.

Yes, we need to ask ourselves that here.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/haveyoursay/2010/10/does_multiculturalism_work.html

No, it does not. At last a European leader has stood up and said what the rest of us know. The problem with allowing other cultures to come in to a country and try and live alongside the indigenous population is that the incoming culture invariably gets an awful lot of breaks in order to 'integrate'. This of course doesn't work, the incoming culture having got its foot in, now proceeds to build an enclave in the various areas they populate making no attempt whatsoever to mingle with the local population, this causes a lot of resentment and distrust.

This can be seen in almost any European major city and it is very marked here in the UK. Multiculturalism is an absolute disaster, the question of course is how do we deal with it now? We have established communities now demanding to be allowed to live as they would in their own countries regardless of whether or not it is legal in their adopted country, that is wrong. Immigrants to host countries must speak the language and adopt the ways of the host county or there will always be problems.

There are no upsides to multiculturalism, there is nothing wrong with those from different countries living together as long as the rules of the host country are abided by, once the immigrant culture starts to impose itself on the indigenous culture then there is going to be problems, and forcing it upon people has quite clearly had a disastrous affect. I expect this will be viewed as racist, but it simply isn't, its the way things are and for too long especially the UK these opinions have been swept under the carpet, and those saying it are labelled 'extreme'. This isn't the case, its a straightforward observation made by those without blinkers on.

Well done Chancellor Merkel, someone had to say and its about time other European leaders stood up for their countries citizens rather than listen to hysterical advisors.

I can't see the point of individuals leaving their country of birth and emigrating, presumably for a better life, and then attempting to change the new country into a replica of their birthplace. If their original home was so satisfactory, and they have no desire to integrate with the indigenous population, they should return to their birthplaces instead of whinging and demanding that the indigenous populations adapt to suit them.

Mikey, America historically has done a great job at assimilating different cultural and ethnic groups once they arrive in this country.

Unlike Europe.

In the U.S., there's an opinion that once we get that first generation all the way through HS, they're 'American citizens' whether their immigrant parents want them to be or not.

Europe is having problems because they've got that limousine liberalism; they want to help the world's poor and suffering but they aren't comfortable with them working and sitting down next to them at dinner.

Okay, you're right. Historically, America has done a great job with integration. Donald Trump could somewhat defy that however if he wins. Regarding people as of now, I'm not sure if it's the internet outlets that empower half of all the users to express their negative feelings towards non-whites behind the anonymity of their computers or if that's representative of real world, public resentment against people of color advancing (ie - Obama campaigning for Clinton, black lives matter and the Cato Institute highlighting police misconduct, a BW being awarded Miss USA this year, Donovan Livingston's Harvard grad school speech, etc.).

It's a combination of both, but extra emphasis on internet anonymity.

And it's not just limited to racial resentment. Any & everyone no matter the race, with any ill views or resentment towards anyone that does not look or think like they do for any reason is a target. It's one of the main reason why participation on this very site is currently shit.

There will be an election wipeout of Barry Goldwater proportions in November.

Fun fact: Hillary Clinton was a Goldwater Girl. Barry Goldwater...a known segregationist. She has disavowed her association with that racist but ti's something to think about.

SMH. Hillary used to be a Republican as a young woman then 'grew up'.
She supported Goldwater's presidential campaign, but not because he opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

You talk like Hillary was a top Goldwater aide in 1964 when she was 17 years old.:smt021

People are really working overtime to paint Hillary as a closet KKK member.
