Quick question for black guys.

I think there is merit to what you are saying, as you mentioned I wasn't born in America, so even though the majority of my life has been spent here I have a different background that influenced my ways of thinking. At least up until I was 12 and came to the U.S.

I actuallly grew up in a single parent household, but I knew right from wrong from the jump and never had to be told twice.

My mom raised me with certain values about what it is to be a respectful person in life.

In college I spoke to one black girl, that was the last time I made any attempt to. She was actually nice and not ghetto.

However my taste and interests evolved over time and I lost interest in dealing with young black women when I saw all the nonsense.

To be honest I don't know what the answer is and I really stopped caring. I don't do drama.

Fair enough

The reason WHY is because we (collectively) have fail on so many levels. How do we expect for them to support us, when we degrade them in our culture, down them in our music, leave them to head our homes and raise our children.

OF COURSE...this is going to create an atmosphere of what you described. If they are they way, it is because we created them...(for whatever reason)

This actually a fair assessment. So then what's the answer?

Stop being a simp. Im not trying be mean but men as a whole stop believing everything a woman says and see thruth in her actions. respect yourself as man and see the value in yourself. next men as a whole when you go thru a divorce make it an issue to get sole custody or make it an issue that you will give alot of visitation besides just every other week. This will lead to better adults because men play a big role.

YMRA, what I gather is we are looking at one big, hot mess of poor values and social ills.

I'm big on personal responsibility and accountability. Black men didn't create this, the policies of the prior generations such as welfare programs, led to broken homes in the ghettos, a blistering anti-black male campaign by even educated black women who spewed the mantra of not needing a black man, because black men weren't shit.

Sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy to me. So is it said so shall it be done.

You don't need a black man, okay. Brothas said deuces. :)

as you stated BW as whole dont need to degraded just so you can have an excuse to date a WW. You said yourself you met a sistah who was cool. there are some (handful) of good sistas.

You like WW and I like WW but I still love other races besides WW and BW. Im not making excuses on dating WW because I dont need to . fuck that. Im a fucking man. I dont need to diss BW to date WW. for example BW are full of drama. hell WW , AW and others are full of drama too. Im sure of that. talk to the WM and AM and they will say that. dont believe me...

read the bible...it stated in proverbs or something about when a Woman is upset, you would be better off sitting on the corner of the roof
(Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. ).

so damn the jewish men were catching hell. how about jezebel...she was a bitch. delilah was a skank and did in samson.

so dont give excuses about dating a WW....you are attracted to em and thats that. no need to diss sistahs to go after a WW.

you are not the first to catch hell from a woman...black men arent the only group of men catching hell from a woman.

so damn !!!!!

Let's not.

Mikey, why in the world did you resurrect this piece of shit thread that's been dead for 6 months? It makes no sense for you to complain about issues on the forum & then turn around & try to create more drama.

PLEASE.....let this crap go!!!!! !

It honestly never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are.

you cant attempt CPR on a dead horse without looking like an ass

This is exactly what some dudes aren't willing to put up with any longer, for years black women were ripping into black men. You would always see black women on television yapping about black men.

The black man ain't shit became a catch phrase, even in sketch comedies and no educated, respectable, refined black man is going to tolerate a woman belittling and talking rubbish about him.

Black men are now responding to years of what was said to and about them by these women.

Everything reaches a tipping point. The new thing is if a black man doesn't deal with black women he isn't strong enough, he is using white women, he just wants a pushover and white women will do anything, he is secretly DL and can't handle black women. Yeah that's it.

The reality is I'm seeing more and more black dykes than anything else just when I'm traveling around NYC. Some trying their darnedest to look like men on the exterior, while the other person with them is the woman I guess. :)

Ain't only the brothas on the DL, that's for sure. Black women need to quit the hypocrisy. Many of them are rampant lesbians as well so they aren't kidding anyone by labeling black men.

From my perspective I figure the best thing is to not even talk about black women and I'll just do me. I don't owe any explanations to anyone.

I like what I like and know what I like and that isn't changing. Many dudes have probably tried to reason with black women, but how can you talk to someone who doesn't want to listen. In their minds its never their fault, especially some of the young knucklehead women out there today who have values that are lacking.

Well, well, well....

I couldn't read every post because I would have stayed up until 7am like I did the other day when you all were discussing "why I love black men" ;-} (BTW it was refreshing to see that so many other women have had great experiences with black men and that it it lead to a deep love in many cases...

I may never post here again because most of what I say comes down to this:

WE GO WITH WHAT MAKES US FEEL GOOD.

We are ALL animals, even if we are on the highest tier. We will be drawn to the one who strokes us the most, who says sweet kind things in our ear, who nurtures us and is faithful about meeting our 1. basic needs and 2. primal needs for affection and human relation.

The one who is THERE when we call.

The one who looks for the BEST in us, when all others saw the worst.

We have all come from different circumstances, and found ourselves in a variety of places because of choice or fate. In some cases, we have brushed positively against (no pun really intended) other races and have found a place of refuge for whatever reason. Not all of us feel totally comfortable in the place that we came from - I for one can attest to that, but don't need to go into the details right now.

All I know is that in my recent 10 year history, since my divorce, I have had almost nothing but affirmation and positive reception from black men. I have had some severe conflicts with black women, mostly due to my appearance and naive attitude (before I learned to BOTH stand my ground and curb my tongue). I have always admired black women because they seemed to know from day one that they were the ONE.
The ONE to make their life great, prosperous, to provide for their children, etc. Maybe it's because I am a white girl who was raised to think her only value was in her virginity. Didn't matter if I made straight A's or whatever - my only purpose for going to college (a Christian college at that) was to find a husband and stay at home to raise his children. I wasn't raised to be independent, and that's what I envy about a lot of black women...

I also know that there are some exceptional black men out there are are loyal, kind, giving, and trustworthy... I look for that everywhere but seem to find it in black men above all. In my personal experience, whenever I let a black man get close, he has only ever been caring, kind, thoughtful, loyal, and even self-sacrificing. Not to mention that overall, black men do seem to take pride in their physical attributes, and who benefits from that the most? Women!! I just have to smile ;-} That is why I seem to think that my equal partner may be found in a dark-skinned man. I don't want to degrade black women in any way - they have in fact been a lot of my inspiration to keep going when times have been so hard.

I have had some negative experiences with black men which have affected my self worth as well, but overall, like I say, when it comes right down to it, I feel very fondly toward black men, and respect black women highly (sometimes a little afraid of them if the truth were known)...

This is my truth and I'm sticking to it.

The difference is that in totality we are not talking about the same experiences across races and ethnicity.

The experience of black men and women in Africa is different from the one's in America of course. Same goes for Asians, Jews, White, etc as a group.

So when we extrapolate things across a wider demography it still doesn't deal with the heart of the issues of the Afro-American situation and what led to this point in time.

Yes other groups have their issues but those are founded in different experiences and scenarios.

I mean did black men go crazy overnight and begin to feel this way, no, there are circumstances that led up to it. It is those circumstances that need to be explored in-depth.

If black men have been called out for years, why shouldn't black women. Lets keep it real and not sugar coat things.

As a black man, I know everything that black men have been called but I don't pay it any mind because that is not me by a longshot. So I just continue to strive to be the best man I'm capable of being.

Like I stated previously an educated, respectable, driven black man will expect certain qualities in his woman. Talking down to him is not one. The only guys I can see tolerating that must have no respect for themselves as a "MAN"

I treat women with respect and expect the same in return, its how I was raised and is a core belief in me. I don't like and don't do drama.

Hey Goodlove, from doing more research, I guess I'll give you some credit. Not sure if you saw this thread, but you may want to take a look here:

http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13654&page=8

It's still not Karma and Smooth, but Trey and Des, instead.

Mikey, why are you stirring up shit? Haven't you ever heard the phrase, 'Don't start none, won't be none'? :smt011

The obvious truth is that the real issue for him is NOT about the self-hate issue...it's about a beef he has with Karma & Smooth. It was just a convenient argument to use against them even though there was nothing to back that argument up...otherwise he wouldn't keep bringing those two up. Everyone else can see that except for you evidently.

It makes no sense for you to keep trying to converse with him about anything as much as he insults you every time you say anything about anything. He's obviously not someone you can have a serious discussion with on this topic, & with you continually bringing it up with him on the board, it just perpetuates the problem, especially if you're making accusations against others yourself. (Are you trying to piss people off?) It kinda comes across as you trying to win his favor or something, & if that's what you're doing you're playing yourself.

I think you're a good kid & you have an obvious drive for learning. Just try to be more selective about who you're learning what from. Remember, it's about discernment. ;)

I'm not trying to start no trouble Tam. I just curious to know what the fuck he's talking about.

I know you're not trying to start any trouble, Trey. My point is he really doesn't know what he's talking about, so there's no point worrying about it IMO.

I read this entire thread, and I'm just pointing out people who have obviously made comments smashing BW. In this thread, Trey did it, and Des did in the other thread that I posted.

My intent for bringing it up wasn't really to start up something, but to point out something that drags this IR down in the eyes of other people. It is a reason why this IR takes more scrutiny than others.

Why do you think there's no scrutiny surrounding relationships between white guys and asian women?

You can pretend like you don't see it or you can ignore it, but it's there. We all came from a BW, so it just makes sense to try to respect BW even though we like WW. All I want is for society to see BM/WW relationships in a different light, so people don't immediately judge that the relationship is based off of hating BW.

Dude, let things go... discussions was had and people moved on - let it be.. It will be repeated I'm sure - do discussions in real time (you will get our chance, don't you worry) and stop dragging up stuff that happened in the past and stop naming people like you do. Its really wrong especially since its passed stuff and conversations you were not a part of.

That makes sense, they do it. However, for this particular IR, we have two groups against us and we have to question why. It's white men and black women.

Black women shouldn't be against BM dating WW. But when we are saying things like this to them, it gives them reason for them to be angry at our preferences.

We don't want a scenario to develop where (in the future) IRs are more accepted except ones involving black people in it. We don't want to hear someone on a show or on the radio saying that "Although IRs are prevalent in society, I think black men need to stay with black women". Self-hate and talking negatively about BW is what holds us back in comparison to the prosperity and acceptance of other IRs.

In my opinion, it doesn't have to be repeated, it should be shattered.
