Movies with BM/WW Couples

They don't need to remake that film, it's like re-inventing the wheel at this point. We don't need to be constantly reminded how taboo a BMxWW pairing is.

I was just watching the commercial during the game today and noticed that it's Rated R for sexual situations and nudity. I would be
totally shocked if Cube has a sex scene in this. LOL!!

Meh, I still think they are gonna handle it like they handled Ice Cube & Olivia Munn in "Ride Along 2".

Don't forget, Ice Cube is still the dude that put out this song:

Yeah but he has changed some from that guy. But you're right, so I wonder what sexual situations are in this movie.

I just found about this teen sci-fi thriller film with a black lead (Played by Jacob Latimore) coming out this year (April 7th) called "Sleight":

The main supporting chick is played by Seychelle Gabriel. According to Wikipedia, Her father is of Mexican and French descent while her mother is of Italian ancestry in case anybody was wondering if she was white.

Watched Prometheus last night and they allude to Idris and Charlize hooking up with her inviting him to her bedroom, but no scene of the actual hook up.
That scene was suggested but never shown. On the DVD when the two scientists inside the alien spacecraft are trying to contact the ship there was only a quick shot of an empty bridge.

Do you remember the film Guess Who with Ashton Kutscher and Bernie Mac? It was considered a remake but in reverse.

I believe that Guess Who's Coming To Dinner belongs on the "Do Not Touch" list.

Ice Cube will always be that guy. He only changed when he did those family friendly films. If there are any sexual situations in this film it would be between Cube and a black woman. Or it will be between minor characters.

Funny movie. Reminds me of 3 o'clock High, The Principal and Teachers.

For the past 30 years or so, there has been a narrative strongly promoted that states that if a black (American) man - and only a black MAN - dates outside his race then he "hates himself". Of course you are all familiar with it. And as you said, Spike Lee promoted this shaming more than anyone.

Yet, somehow this doesn't apply to black women who exercise their prerogative to date a non-black man. All of this promotes the goal of expanding the mating options of black women, while restricting the options of black men.

You see, a black woman should not have to compete in the sexual market with other races of women for the attention of black men. Black women should be loved simply because they are black. And black men should be available for black women, no matter what she looks or acts like. Black men have been berated for the past 30 years and shamed into accepting this crap as truth. And those who challenge this narrative must be relentlessly made an example of. Many black men have even been taught by their mothers that there is something wrong with dating a non-black woman.

All of that is why the American black man is different from other black men. Now, in 2015 we see the attitude of entitlement among so many black women.

And that card is a tentative one. It depends on how dark she is. You're on probation. Similar to being with an Asian. But you still you lose all your rights to discuss racism.

Oldie but goodie post.

Get Out: the horror film that shows it's scary to be a black man in America

The first trailer for Jordan Peele’s directorial debut about a murderous white community is a refreshing vision in a genre that often sidelines people of color

The plot focuses on Chris (Sicario’s Daniel Kaluuya), a black man planning to meet the parents of his white girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams, known for her role as Marnie in Girls) for the first time. But from the outset, something seems off. An uncomfortable encounter with a local cop puts them – and us – on edge and once they arrive at the family home and get settled, Chris becomes aware of increasingly strange, and potentially murderous, behavior. A major element of this relates to racial difference as Chris must navigate an almost entirely white space (apart from the “help”), relying on a lifetime’s worth of practice dealing with micro-aggressions and discrimination. It’s a thrilling conceit and one hopes that Get Out might signal a trend of culturally relevant horror films from film-makers of color.

I mentioned that trailer of that flick weeks ago.
There are 3 different threads on this movie in this subforum. This the longest & oldest thread: http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/f...-daniel-kaluuya-set-to-star-in-get-out.27630/

Idris Elba and Kate Winslet are in talks to star in a 'romantic drama' called The Mountain Between Us. The story is about two strangers who must survive after their plane crashes in the wilderness.

They are a great pair Elba and Winslet. I look forward to that flick soon.

Speaking of whether Idris Elba is a Hollywood leading man yet…

The actor is currently filming the romantic drama “The Mountain Between Us” for Twentieth Century Fox and producer Chernin Entertainment – a project that’s long been in development that was original set to star Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike. Both were eventually replaced by Elba and Kate Winslet.

An adaptation of the best-selling novel by Charles Martin, the story centers on a man and woman, survivors of a plane crash in the wilderness, who fall in love.

Here’s a summary of the book from the author’s website: “On a stormy winter night, two strangers wait for a flight at the Salt Lake City airport. Ashley Knox is an attractive, successful writer, who is flying East for her much anticipated wedding. Dr. Ben Payne has just wrapped up a medical conference and is also eager to return home to Jacksonville, FL for a slate of surgeries he has scheduled for the following day. When the last outgoing flight is canceled due to a broken de-icer and a forthcoming storm, Ben finds a charter plane that can take him around the storm and drop him in Denver to catch a connection. And when the pilot says the single engine prop plane can fit one more, Ben offers the seat to Ashley, knowing that she needs to get back just as urgently. And then the unthinkable happens. The pilot has a heart attack mid-flight and the plane crashes into the High Uintas Wilderness–one of the largest stretches of harsh and remote land in the United States. Ben, who has broken ribs and Ashley, who suffers a terrible leg fracture, along with the pilot’s dog, are faced with an incredibly harrowing battle to survive. As the days on the freezing mountains become weeks, their survival becomes increasingly perilous. How will they make it out of the wilderness and if they do, how will this experience change them forever?”

Of course Elba plays Dr. Ben Payne and Winslet is Ashley Knox.

Dermot Mulroney is also in the film which is being directed by Hany Abu-Assad from a script that was initially adapted by Mills Goodloe and Scott Frank. Chris Weitz was tapped for a rewrite.

The film, which reads like it could be a 2-character acting clinic, certainly has an Oscar-friendly storyline, which would obviously put Elba in a potentially prime position, especially after what many saw as an Oscar snub for his performance in “Beasts of No Nation” a year ago. And maybe the fact that Fox has set an October 20th, 2017 release for the film – in the thick of awards season – is a sign of their expectations for it. And certainly Winslet is no thespian slouch, and no stranger to Oscar with 7 Academy Award nominations and 1 win to her credit.

And while Palestinian director Abu-Assad may not be a mainstream filmmaker, especially on this side of the Atlantic, his work, which dates back to the 1990s, has won him numerous international awards, include festival honors at the premieres like Cannes and Berlin.

So this is certainly something to keep an eye on.

Chernin Entertainment is producing, with Fox 2000’s Marisa Paiva overseeing it.
