Even a gay director should know better than to cast a Superman film with leads who look as if they belong on the WB (CW) network. Just shows how worse ageism has gotten in Hollywood. The other week I saw the original Andromeda Strain (1971) for the first time ever on cable. You couldn't make a mainstream movie like that anymore because all the actors chosen to play the top doctors and scientists in the world not only looked like real people of science (no real pretty people) they were also age appropriate to be the leaders of thir field. You see as much as I love hot women and looking at them I just don't buy this chick....

as one of the world's leading research scientists.
But perhaps I just need more of an open mind.
No you're right. Their (flawed) logic is that they'd get somebody young and do a three-movie franchise over 6-10 years. Unless it tanks like Superman Returns did.
In the case of the above, though, it's part of the internal logic of the 007 world that nuclear scientists look like her. Maybe not the current, more realistic (post-Bourne) incarnation, but certainly the Brosnan era.
I still say Megan as WW as long as the script explained why she was young, i.e. Lynda Carter could play her mother.
PS: Your favorite writer Margeaux Watson is back in the latest EW this time screaming about the lack of female rappers up for BET and VH1 Hip-Hop Awards
