Yeah...that's called being let go with a warning. Hell, a few years ago I was doing 81 in a 55 driving in pretty heavy traffic and the deputy basically told me to slow it down next time. *sigh* Parents.

You can't blame her. Black people are definitely harassed/stopped more by the police and I bet that makes her sick. I don't blame her one bit. I agree completely, profiling & harassment is a major problem. I know when the story first became public I certainly believed it without question. Your Granny sounds a whole lot like what my Granny used to say.

What makes it even more insane is that the deputy was an older White guy. With that said, the fact that I was let off with a warning probably had something to do with the fact that once I knew he saw me speeding, I was already making my way over to the median. Once he got to the car I already had my license and registration in my hands. He pretty much had me dead to rights so there wasn't much I could do.
If I had done something like that and my mom found out about it, no amount of tap dancing would have saved my ass!
