Fuck that I want to see a wolf of wall st type movie with House of Lies type directing. So over the our suffering being the only narrative we fucking live, it's exhausting.

I look back on the films Zulu and Zulu Dawn. Both films told of the Zulu uprising. Zulu Dawn takes place before the epic Zulu battle with the British in Roark's Drift. In Zulu, the scene where the Zulus sing before leaving was depicted as a salute of respect. However, that was not the case. The Zulus were tired and had lost as many as the British(though the British were outnumbered). If you ever get the chance, see Zulu( a direct descendent of the Zulu leader who organized the battle is in the film) and Zulu Dawn.

What part of no more suffering black people/shoeshining era don't you get youngin lol
America has a fetish of seeing black suffering and then patting themselves on the back for "how far we've come"

Roots 2.0 is coming whether you want it or not

Cultivating white guilt/black plight never gets old and is always profitable

I mean jeez in this climate of black lives matter and all sorts of state-sponsored terrorism, it will be a hit

Throw in a good holocaust movie and a few manifest destiny/slaughtering of the natives by European settlers specials and we are set

So SELMA was basically snubbed at the Oscar nomination ceremony.
It got the nom-nod for Best Picture only, (though that is pretty prestigious a win if they nab it).

The link is interesting, though I don't know what to think, having not seen it...just doesn't feel right on a visceral level, however, I could be reacting on a biased level here..

No white savior not an Oscar pick at least that's the way it seems in comparison to the Help, The Butler etc

Possibly... though Hotel Rwanda had a Black Savior and was nominated for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay.

Dunno, maybe the acting isn't up to par? Want to see it though.
