    The REAL Mastermind Behind Batman

Touching story on how people can get royally fucked over, even times were tough. This article from NPR explains this all too well through an interview with Marc Tyler Nobleman, the author of the new book Bill the Boy Wonder. The link provides the interview, article, plus transcript. But here's is the article below...

There are shit loads of stories like this involving many characters and creators in the comics industry. There are even stories about Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the guy that drew, designed and help flesh out pretty much all of the Marvel Universe characters in the early days (he designed all the characters expect for Spider-Man, Iron Man, Daredevil and Dr. Strange) and how Stan Lee got all the credit and latter royalties for everything involving the Marvel Universe in the early days and he was just looked at as "that guy who drew a bunch of Marvel characters". This guy left Marvel in the 1970's because of that and went to work for DC Comics where he created characters for them most notably the character Darkseid and the whole New Gods mythos build around him and DC then and even now gave that man his propers when the character became popular. The man died in the mid 1990's and his estate was before he died and still is as I recall involved is a massive law suit with Marvel Comics over rights and royalties his estate is owed due to his involvement in the creation of the Marvel Universe.

That is true, but at least Jack Kirby managed to get some name recognition in his created moments, long before his death. Bill Finger didn't even have his name credited in ANY of the Batman stories, movies, and merchandise.

That's because Kirby was always rightfully raising a stink about how he wasn't given his fair recognition. That plus the shit ton of comic book and cartoon characters he played a hand in creating throughout his career such as Captain America during WWII era and Thundaar the Barbarian when he started doing animation character design work in the 1980's, there was no other logical choice but give that man his proper recognition. There are indeed far more Bill Finger type stories out there than there are Jack Kirby type stories when it comes to the comic industry and how it treated creators in it's early day.

that's true in a lot of industries

    people are slimey like that

just think about the facebook guy who 'stole' the idea from a fellow classmate, and how long it took that guy to get recognized as the real brains behind it

Anyone watching the new season of Alphas on SYFY channel?

The show has some potential, and I like the X-men lite vibe it has going.
It's biggest draw back is the fact that it clearly has a miniscule budget. And A Superpowers show with a small budget, can be almost unwatchable sometimes.

The show also falls into one of my biggest Scifi pet peeves, and that is when people have great powers, but they only can think of petty little things to use them on. If your going to have powers that set you apart from the other 99.999% of humanity exploit the shit out of them!

i like the show, but someone else pointed out the budget confinements too. could have been you or BBW. with that said, for what it has I think it does a good job. Not all shows can keep me interested enough to watch every episode, but Alphas did. I'm more into characters and how they interact with each other. To me, that's substance.

For any fellow gamers, if you haven't experienced Final Fantasy VII, you now have the opportunity to experience the game through a downloadable format. This is for people who have grown up with RPGs, especially JRPGs and want to live the classic times of gaming.

    It contains the following:
    • Cloud Save System
    • Boost Mode
    • High End Visuals
    • New Areas
    • Plus old favorites and more...

Truly a classic game, I just wish I hadn't become so ADD since it originally came out, because I just don't have the patience for JRPGs anymore.

Honestly, it's my first time playing Final Fantasy VII. So this is my first experience. I never bothered even to watch the playthroughs...or for any Final Fantasy for that matter. My first FF game was FF6 for the SNES, and for the PSX, FF9. Both which are excellent games.

So far, my impression is that it's too early to tell as I am still at the very beginning and I'm getting use to the keyboard set up. However, I still firmly feel that there are better RPGs than FF7 as this game was tremendously overhyped by the masses. But, it's still a good game and I'm enjoying it so far.

DC Comics has decided to stop beating around the bush, and hook up Superman and Wonder Woman. There have been "What If" type stories were they have paired them together before. But as far as I know, this is the first time in the regular continuity that they have put them together.

For the safety of everyone, I hope they have sex someplace far away from other people.

Ah. So this is the "Shocking Ending" in Justice League # 12 they've been hinting at over the last few months that I've seen on various comic related sites.
