I see what you saying and your right, he is supposed to be inspirational, but not cheesy. He should be like Batman but without the mental illness.

By that I mean, one of Batman's greats strengths is that the bad guys (and other heroes) know he can kick their asses six ways till Sunday. Captain America should be portrayed exactly like that. His sheer force of will, should be as intimidate as his skills.

The boy scout thing works for Superman because he's pretty much a Greek god in a cape, so he doesn't need any intimidation when he can just fly out of nowhere and pick up a dump-truck or two.

Correct. Batman will fuck up the bad guys any and every way possible, but he will not kill no matter how much a bad guy or guys may even deserve it because if he crosses that line then he is no better than the bad guys that he has dedicated himself to fighting. That's what made the Dark Knight such a good Batman movie because it showed perfectly exactly those traits which make Batman, Batman. The two scenes, the one where he had Eric Roberts' character hanging over the edge of the building and dropped him enough to break his ankles and the one near the end with the Joker and his explaining why he wouldn't kill him. Batman in a nut shell.

And as I said when they make Captain America too much of a soldier then he is no longer Captain America......

The rumored new official look for Captain America. And "No" not the Ultimate version but the classic version. It doesn't say "superhero" to me. More like tricked out soldier. :smt102

Like I said I'm cool with them tweaking certain elements in the movies to make them more realistic to sell the illusion of it taking place in the real world. The things that were done in both the Captain America and Avengers movies...:smt023

But doing things like the above "realistic" design in the comics and in the cartoons...:smt009

Ok, I don't like that design either. It is going way to far in the other direction.

Bible Games Reviewed by Angry Video Game Nerd

Religious-based games are VERY rare to find. Normally when you look for games with some theme involving religion, it's generally packed in story-heavy games like the Xeno series and other well-renown Japanese RPGs. But in these two videos, these are Bible-based games. You'd expect developers to take precious care of a big ass religious institution, right? Well, take a look...

Calling oneself "The Angry Video Game Nerd" kind of diminishes any objective credibility. ;)

Back in the early days of home video game making, any one with slightly above average programing skills, could crank out a game in no time. So you saw literally dozens of these niche titles on the shelves.

Now if the religious people who made these games really want to reach the masses. They should put out a really top tier game, that just happens to be religious. Just like the Christian under-tones of the first and third Indiana Jones movies.

Ehhh, that's just the name of the guy who tends to review a lot of bad games and give off humor. In other words, the reviews, while bears a lot of credibility, are just there for the lulz and quite frankly, he's legit. He grew up playing video games just like the rest of us.

Also, there have been some religious based games as of late, like El Shaddai: Ascension of Metatron. It's an interesting action-adventure game and heavily based off of Judaism. Stylish graphics and an excellent soundtrack with a love or hate gameplay system. That's an example of a good game with excellent quality assurance all over.

Having programming skills really means nothing if the quality of the game is subpar, gameplay wise, and all else. If you can't deliver a solid gaming experience, then it will suck.

I remembered that show...all those super sentai programs really caught my eye. I even dare say that even G Gundam followed that route a little bit.

Yeah, I remember this show. This was back when all kinds of anime shows where popping up on local TV. This and Mazinger Z were the shows to watch up this way, although Mazinger Z was a little on the comedy side in some instances.

I remember coming home from my night shift job and watching that with my little brother. He was obsessed with it. But it only lasted a short time.

This was one of my favorites:

So Marvel Comics is quite literally bringing the original X-Men team back as active participants in present day adventures by having the teen-aged X-Men team of Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman come from the past and become stuck in the present. And of course they don't like what they see in terms of how the X-Men universe and how it has evolved. Hmm. So much is right and so much is wrong with this idea. Just my two cents though.

Shit. I remember when them joints were 25 cents and you actually got action and story from start to finish unlike what I've seen in most comics today. They spend a whole issue standing around talking and working up to a big confrontation with whatever bad guy has popped up and then when they actually fight it's like one or two big splash pages of a fight and then it's over. WTF!?!?!?! That's what mofo are dropping $4.00 .. sometimes more...on a comic for???

They've over done the "realism" in a fantasy setting. Back in the day it was OK for characters to,unrealistically as it was, be talking and telling story details all while they were trading blows and energy blasts. Now they have to build up what's going on in the story before the fight because we all know you can't talk while you're punching/blasting or getting punched/blasted. Gotta concentrate on getting through the fight alive and all.....
