Such is life in a winner takes all electoral system.

I simply refuse to vote for Jindal, especially after the debauchery on cutting a lot of funds from higher education. Secondly, he signed something into law which allows creationism and intelligent design to be taught in science classrooms and that really caused a horrendous stir in my gut.

These are the two main issues, and there are more things I see wrong with him. So far the only thing he's actually done right was to sell the Superdome to Mercedes-Benz so that taxpayers wouldn't have to foot the bill.

As for the other candidates? Typical blowhards.

That's pretty much the story everywhere. It takes a tremendous amount of ego in my opinion to seriously stand in front of people and tell them with a straight face that you're the only one who can do this job. Ego-maniacs and blowhards is right!

Ironically, I had aspirations to getting into politics. But...at the rate I'm going, I'll have to be the Wise Old Man in a conservative state.

Well, the good news is that, in a conservative state, it won't be hard to position yourself as the Wise Old Man. LOL

Hahahaha, I think the first thing I would have to do is advise people to reevaluate their definition of "conservative" and from there, we'll see...

I have it all worked out in my head. We'll see how it comes together. This place lets you paint or whatever so long as it's back to white when you move out.

    ;)

I am so tired. I have to get up early and drive a friend to DIA tomorrow. So there goes a couple of hours out of my day before the people show to help me move more stuff. I need to let my inner bitch out when people ask me all these favors. :smt043 I have until Friday to get done what I can before the hired movers come for the furniture.

    orejon,

hi! am hoping you are well this day. regarding the politics, and those running for the office, is sad so much i am thinking that many smart ones, many good ones do not go for the offices cause of the process you speak of.

is tough on people lots too cause is like here with many one's being mean to others cause of different thinkings. is never reason for being mean, is only reason for learning i am thinking, yes?

Yes you do, I'm getting better about it but far from perfect. I just keep reminding myself that stress is my enemy now.

Thank gods for hired movers! This last move to Colorado was the first time I'd used movers, and it was a lot easier. Still a metric fuckton of work, but at least I didn't have to lug the furniture around alone again!

    There is NO TOMORROW
I'd gladly carry the weight of disappointment over the weight of regret any day Book. Today is all we have. There is NO TOMORROW.
Go after what you want. There is far more honor in the attempt than in the want of something. There is NO TOMORROW.

I may as well be a political participant. I simply just can't vote on the national elections like many of the people do. I want to at least say I did something locally.

That's just for starters. LOL. Speaking of blowhards, I'm listening to Newt right now.

Yeah, sometimes you need to, otherwise people will have you giving until it hurts. Even the most well-intentioned can ask too much of someone.

Alexis, I couldn't agree more. We have no idea how many good potential candidates decide not to run for office because of the circus side show that our political process has become. But I'm glad that BigBrotherWise voted, because our vote is just as important as protest to make things better.

I've never moved without movers but in town I will do the lighter work myself. Though after today my body says that wasn't so light. Can't get off the couch. :(

For the love of god, WHY??? That's just inhumane to do to yourself.

The problem right now lies in not being given the opportunity to be alone with him outside of work to talk to him about it. I'm sure he pretty much knows that it's him that I fancy (he's an engineer, so he's a pretty smart guy), so if I get the chance to outright tell him, I will.

I just won't lean over the cubicle wall and say, hey, in case you didn't know already, I kind of like you.

    Thanks, Alexis.
