Lol pillow hands goes to show you that u need more than wrestling skills to compete with high level players
dont forget UFC 135 is this weekend time to see Bone Jones give rampage the tune up of his career just another reason why practicing jiu jitsu is safer than MMA cage matches :axe:
his reach is insane, but he also has solid grappling as demonstrated by the application of the choke. Either way you're fucked. Rampage's problem is that he thinks he can win all his fights with his hands. If Jones was a slower guy, with slower in and out movement, that wouldn't be a problem. In this fight, every time Rampage got in range and threw a hand, Jones easily backed out of the way. He needs to round out his arsenal if he want's that title back, because the skill level of these MMA guys is ever increasing. Matt Hughes realized that, and look how sharp his boxing became against Koschek. Matt Hughes used to have the ugliest stand up, no lie.
This Saturday Cruz vs. "Mighty Mouse" Johnson for the UFC Bantamweight title. Should be an interesting fight & it'll be on Versus.
It's sad he has the opportunity to fight on a level many guys only dream of yet, instead of taking it seriously and becoming a true mixed martial artist, he decides to try to box people every fight of all things, he tries to out box someone with much more reach than him lol
He could be joking about that and taking a shot at Jones. I wish he threw more kicks too. His head movement was excellent but he needs to do more than that, but then again you see a lot of wrestlers use boxing as their preferred striking.
This saturday is Frankie Edgar-Gray Maynard for the 3rd time for the UFC Lightweight Title. Also Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian for the Feathweright Title. Jose Aldo the guy Anderson Silva said he would retire if Aldo fought at 185.
Interesting matchup... I think lyoto will give jones his toughest fight ever, because he's a very technical and elusive striker being that jones is young, I think lyoto will go back to his old ways and frustrate him with his karate style as usual the x factor for jones will be his insane reach. Lyoto is the kind of guy you'd want to match him up with tho to nullify that factor
Rashad Ducks Jones, Jones to Fight Michida at UFC140 Jon Jones: The way the fight came about was Dana called me into his office just a few days ago, and he asked me to fight Rashad Evans at UFC 140. Without hesitation, I said 'absolutely'. There's nothing I want to do more than to get past this Rashad Evans chapter in my career, because it's been a nuisance. He's been the antagonist in my career. So, I'm predicting that maybe Rashad thought that I would turn the fight down, knowing that I just got done finishing my title fight. I'm sure he thought that I would say no to him, and I'm sure he would have went with the approach of, 'Oh well, Jon Jones is ducking me again; he turns down the fight in nine weeks.' To his surprise, I took the fight, and after I took the fight, he decides that his hand isn't ready, and he's going to need more time. So, with me already agreeing with Dana that I would take a fight at UFC 140, Dana called me back and said, 'Hey, listen, Rashad decided that he can't compete at UFC 140, what would think about fighting Lyoto Machida?' And I said 'absolutely'. My feet were swollen after my fight, but they are healed now, and I want to fight. My health is good, I'm a young guy, and I want to fight. So I took the fight against Lyoto in nine weeks from now. This is four fights in 10 months against three former champions in the same year. I don't think that's ever been done. Edgar/Maynard tonight stay up, baby bros looking forward to see Kenny Florian fight again i know he used to train in Philly at a MMA place not too far from where I work like to see Chael Sonnen also...didnt see him since he tested positive for roids
i'll be even more shocked in Machida uses the crane technique again on another note fight fans, it looks like Sonnen will get a rematch against Silva, if Silva doesn't back out of it. Sonnen was verrrrrrrry close to winning their last fight, but lost due to a last effort submission by Anderson. Sonnen also tested positive for steroid usage, so who knows how that affected his performance. A non-roid using Sonnen may not have the same explosive power on those takedowns and strikes, and may end up getting KO'd in the first or second round like everyone else Silva fights. Either way, Dana said he'd be stupid NOT to book these guys for a rematch. looks like Dan Henderson's coming back to the UFC as well, after running with the gimps at Strikeforce:smt023 Id love to see him back in the mix
