Tonight it's BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz

I wonder which BJ Penn will show up

    yeah ill be watching that

I can't remember the last time BJ Penn fought, but they gave him the main card because of what he accomplished in the past. The potential for his fight game is championship level, but he just kinda fell off after losing that belt. I remember when him and GSP had their thing going on, but it looks like GSP got the better deal in life.

dont forget fight fans, UFC on Fox in November

huge move for the biggest MMA promotion in the world

this is nothing but good news for fans that want to see the sport grow and evolve. Hell you may even see BJJ become an official NCAA/High school sport, once people become more familiar with it. Once you understand the ins and outs of it, there is no turning back. People currently boo when guys take it to the ground, because of their lack of appreciation and knowledge of whats going on.

What a bust! Cain Velasquez entered the ring with all that brown pride shit like he was the reincarnation of Quetzacoatl and he gets knocked the fuck out in seconds.

Only, when pigs fly. In a country where dodge ball has been eliminated among kids in school as being too violent, it won't happen.

wrestling is one of the most vigorous sports out there. It doesn't look like much from the spectator's view, but it's a totally exhausting event that causes a lot of injuries. It's a form of combat after all. I guess the difference between impromptu dodgeball and wrestling, is that kids actually sign up with parent's permission for one, and get randomly selected and pegged with a ball for the other.

Growing up in the 80s tho, everyone played dodgeball in the gym, no excuses

that taught you how to cover up your face and protect your neck

that reminded me of the good ole days of WWF, when the ultimate warrior would get put into sleeper holds. His arm would go a little limp after a while, then he'd start shaking it back and forth and fire elbows into his opponents stomach.

unfortunately, Lyoto isnt the ultimate warrior and he got put to sleep:p

    that was real nasty

i guess when all that money is on the line, you put a little extra in to hold through the submission

where i train, they won't even let lower ranks perform submissions around the knee/ankle areas, because by the time you feel enough pain to tap, the damage will be already be done. in this case, the pain was there but he was like screw it anyway, if it snaps it snaps.

i guess the time loss due to the injury was worth the possibility of pulling out a win, because he was winning that fight in my book. I thought Frank Mir was going to get KO'd for sure.
