Are you willing to negotiate monogam

I feel like everyone's missing the point

I know you're not talking about me. He asked a question and I answered. Most of your comrades felt compelled to attach their morals and feelings to it. So I'm wait for my rep apology big boobs McGee

There is a middle ground, you know. People who enter polyamorous relationships aren't automatically sex crazed maniacs lacking in morals/self-discipline, or weak minded people who can't handle commitment. The idea of negotiated monogamy comes about because people DO want to be in loving, committed, serious relationships but are willing to re-negotiate centuries old social norms.

Now wait a gawd dayum minute, your making entirely to much sense!

No. Not willing and I know for a fact my man isn't either. Actually he's probably more against it than I am. I don't care what other couples do, but my man would hate the idea that people do that.

As human beings, it seems, we are becoming more cerebral, I guess, in order to navigate through the maze of the litany of institutions that now dominate our lives. As economic life become more sophisticated and rights of the individual become more entrenched, marriage contract, I suspect would have to be updated. How?

I have often wondered whether Bill Clinton won't cheat again. Arnold Schwarzenegger, I suspect, in spite of the " i take responsibility " would probably do another 'hit and run," even though he might take precautionary measures to miss making a baby again, just possibly.

I noticed in Bill Clinton's case, Hillary became blind to the feminist movement idealists, and pragmatism probably weighed and reigned over idealism. No one knows for sure how that of Arnold Schwarzenegger would unfold, at least with Maria Shriver. It just goes to show it doesn't matter what faith you profess, or political ideology you subscribe to, whether democrat, or republican, when the shit hits the fan, no one knows what to conjecture on the life after.

I have often wondered if the kids had choice in the matter, what they would want, daddy stays with mummy, or they go their separate ways. I doubt if kids had a choice they would hardly apply the rigid moral rules that seems prevalent in western societies, although France seems to be more accommodating to infidelities.

On the subject at hand, I don't think I would willingly enter into concessions in marriage on some idea, for whatever reason, that some fellow shags my wife. The exclusivity for me is part of the allure, the attraction, and hence the emotional connection. It is a tough sell. I am not a politician, I should not suffer the fate of politicians or celebrities, I am just a simple man that wants a woman, my own, and within boundaries that are all well and thoroughly defined, no trespass please!

It will come right after you apologise to me for telling DB she was the only one who stuck to the topic!!

Damn I missed that cosign

I agree with that too...

Now there we go, just wanted a bit of acknowledgement lol

What would you ladies reactions be if your spouse says

"Hey if your ass gains more than 5lbs during this relationship I'm out because that's totally selfish of yourself to change who I fell in love with"

or

He included in his vows that you must not eat sweets or junk food ever during Marriage because he considers that cheating.

If you come home and catch your man humping the bed, is that cheating? Would you still easily just leave like that?

What if all sudden you were able to read minds, would it be cheating if your caught your man vividly fantasizing sleeping with other women?

Hell no. There is nothing to negotiate. I don't cheat & I won't tolerate a cheater. If I was married & my husband cheated on me, I'd kill his ass...gotta stay true to "until death do us part" vow. ;)
?This?
If he needs to negotiate, he's not marrying me. Perhaps other women could negotiate, but if I were to do that it means that I don't care about him and thus wouldn't even consider marriage. Why buy the cow when I can get the milk for free from somebody(ies) else.

Why be in a relationship or marriage if you want to behave as if you are single? No negotiating for me. Sorry.

Lets say 8 years down the road then, you started off hot and heavy but he one day says I'm not as turned on by you as I once was do you think we can consider an open relationship. And another thing I want to bring up is sex always seems to be a problem for couples but I do notice a distinct double standard when women don't want to do it and when men don't want to do it. Its seems like a lot of women want complete control over that aspect of the relationship.

Just for the record I want to point out this is NOT the kind of negotiated monogamy I was advocating.

This. I've never cheated. And there was one time (when I was a lot younger) when I thought my man had cheated on me (it was a misunderstanding on my part) and I did almost kill him. Luckily though, it was just an "almost" and he forgave me.

oh snap :smt095

It might not have anything to do with anything you're doing or not doing it might be our urge for variety. Female mammals generally don't have the same level of need for a variety of partners the way men do. I know its something that will be dismissed as poor self control or immaturity like most things male oriented but its something to consider. A lot if not most dudes don't cheat because they're unhappy, that's generally a female trait, they just do it because its be hard wired into our dnas for eons to seek variety. I know we have the ability to ignore our urges but its one of those things women in general don't have to deal with so its our problem to deal with alone.
