LOL...Glad I'm not alone.... That's why I love reading peoples comments online and hearing what folks have to say in conversing with people offline. You get to hear how the world thinks so-to-speak. Some of it is interesting and some of it is pure unadulterated bullshit, but at least we're aware. I look at some folks and think, lawd, you need to get out more... Yes, I'm with you Girl....I wish we could do something, but I just work with people around me. I try and school people with whatever knowledge I have and look for others to do the same.
Also, those who came to my defense didn't do so because of some obligation to any "clique". They did so because they actually know something about me, unlike yourself.
I dont think there are cliques here as much as it is that we agree on some things. However, we dont agree on everything. On the bolded part: you are correct, being white and not have experienced it first hand, it IS hard to grasp emotionally even if you can understand it in concept. That is one of the fundamental problems with the issue. If anyone saw "what would you do" the other night (re-run)- it was a glaring demonstration of this. This comes as no surprise for anyone that is black. White people in general just arent aware if the predjudist they have. Its terribly engrained in society. If we could break that on a large scale - it would be a start. But the predjudists and suspicions do needs to be faught on both sides... and many of the comments on here is a direct demonstration of that.
We may not all be able to empathize, but we can all definitely sympathize. I think we all understood you. You're pretty precise in your posts (at least to me you are). I got you Girl!
Same here. I do the best I can, even if I know I dont get it all. At least I can speak up when I hear pure BS. On a side note - I just made HUGE batch of tomato-sauce. Way too much - You need to come over for some chit-chat and Ill give you some of it. We are due for some chictchat anyhow
