If you lived in Houston I'd totally come clean your house lol For a small fee, of course! I go over to Nate's, clean, and do hair. lol Do the dishes, braid one of his friends' hair. Clean the bathroom, tend to his braids. Do some laundry, edge up another friend. He's so lucky to have me.
So are his friends! It costs me $70 to get my hair done... I used to do it every 2 weeks. That's like THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND TWENTY SOMETHING CENTS A MONTH!!
What do you get done to it? I do cornrows (both normal and designs), trims, edges, plaits, extensions, colours (added some red and white to Nate's plaits recently, it's awesome!), twists, and I'm about to do some dreads in a couple days as a present for my friend's birthday. I charge my homie Mario 10 bucks every two weeks to do his hair. And when he comes over he gets a trim and a wash, too. He says the health of his hair has improved greatly since I started taking care of it for him. lol Well, 10 bucks or a dime bag, whichever he has handy. lol Last week I did it for free, though, cause money's tight for him. I just enjoy the process of doing hair. It's fun for me. Though I wish I -could- make some money off it. Black people be wary of a white girl who says she can do hair, though. lol Most people gotta see my work before they'll consider letting me do theirs. Cleaning, though. I just do that for Nate. E'erbody else got to pay!
Just keeping busy...busy, busy, busy. I'm trying to decide if I want to submit my d-school app...it's all filled out, I just don't feel like my DAT score is high enough :smt012 The guy I've been seeing for the last 6 months is leaving next weekend...knowing this situation has an expiration date on it doesn't make it any easier...so I feel a cry coming on about that... :smt088 And work is kicking my ass! I have a lot of dumb coworkers that need to get their business together! So in tough times the hotel business is a good place to be...however, I don't like dealing with assholes! By the way, I'm employee of the month...lol...
Yellow is my color. I'd feel like I was ripping you off if you did. Charge at least $40, and I usually tip about $15.
You should see what I can do with hair dye! I've done my own hair since I was a teenager. Cut, color, and style. Never had the money to get it professionally done. In my life I've been to a beauty salon like 3 times, and only once was it ever worth it. Once I ended up with a frizzy mess after I was supposed to get my hair chemically straightened, and the other time I was given an atrocious layered cut and an ugly perm. Bitch had me looking like a poodle that got into a fight with a lawnmower. The only time it worked well was my razor cut before I moved to Houston. That lady was a miracle worker. Oh, and my aunt paid for me to get my hair styled for prom. So I guess it was 4 times, not 3. lol
I give good discounts to my friends! Besides, I don't charge much since I'm not licensed or anything, either. If I was, I'd run my own business to pay for school out of my living room. lol
Yup, I signed on for painting your toes.... not touching the hair. You would not want to go out in public., seriously.
Well, knowing how much it normally costs me, there is no way I'd pay $20 in good conscious. $41.50, and not a penny lower!
Yep. I've maintained my layers from the razor cut for two years now, and technically all the cute lil spikeys in my hair are mostly my creation, since I've pretty much trimmed off the vast majority of ends left from the original cut. I used to want to go to beauty school, but it just felt like an extreme waste of my brain. lol I wanted a career that proved more of a challenge, and offered less stress on my feet and back. I need to start taking pics every time I do someone's hair and make a portfolio, I think.
Oh you absolutely should do that...... You can post your do's on here too.. I would love to see your work.
