What's going on with you?

Well, dear Soulthinker. I am not a professor (would be fun, though - maybe one day), I am just back at uni doing some fun study to keep my brain active and my soul happy. And I don't live in Europe, so am not earning Euro's, sadly. I'm not going to Europe, either...Just heading north to visit a mate for a week. And, I don't get paid overtime for most of the work - but I can collect the hours in paid leave later (if it ever gets less busy!!).

What are you up to, where have you been lately?

Well, heh, at least you're getting some veggies in ya! Carrots are awesome. I sure don't miss being on a strict ramen noodle diet in order to afford other living costs. I can't even look at them any more without getting queasy. I did lose about 50lbs in a year or so though.

Anyhoo, as for the thread topic. I'm going to be moving soon and I'm absolutely obsessed about it. Drawing the floor plans, furniture placements, drowning myself in Feng Shui research, going through home decor catalogs and websites etc etc.
I've decided to train my cat to use the toilet instead of the litterbox. There's really no good place to put a litterbox in my opinion, at least not in my little apartment I'll have. I don't want to put it in the bathroom where I bathe or in the bedroom where I sleep or in the kitchen and eating areas for obvious reasons, or in the livingroom where I'll entertain guests and probably be spending most of my awake time. So, I'm going to train my kitty to go potty in the toilet and I won't have to buy any more litter or scoop it, which will be nice, plus that dust stuff in most cat litters isn't good for people to inhale anyway, heh, says the cigarette smoker Britty .
It's probably a long shot but I was curious if anyone here has trained their kitty to go in the toilet? I found a website on how to do it and I think it will work. All I can do is try.
There's still a problem though. According to Feng Shui, leaving your toilet seat up and your bathroom door open (which I will have to so it's accessible for my kitty) is said to drain your finances. Not that I'll have any finances or income and nor will it be required in the type of place I'll be moving, but I still do plan to sooner or later get a job and have some monies and I don't want those monies to "go down the toilet" ya know. Hopefully the Feng Shui master I e-mailed a bit ago will have a cure or remedy for that and let me know. Now back to research I go.

 

Still looking for another job. My comic was recently finished, written that is. Me and my team still have to animate it, which will take forever. I'm thinking about taking art classes that specialize in Japanese Manga style, the style I draw in... Or at least I can buy some more books on it.

 

I think I hate more what ramen signifies, as opposed to the actual taste. Though I got burnt out on the noodles a looong time ago, when I couldn't afford anything else. So it pisses me off when I get backed into that "you can't afford shit to eat" corner and it's back to ramen. -_-

That's great to hear about your apartment! You need to hit me up on yahoo and tell me all about it, apparently I've missed a lot!

 

Those "How To Draw...(insert something here)" books are pretty decent at teaching you the basics, showing you how everything starts out as geometric shapes and such...but if you've mastered that step then there's really no need for the books past that.

Observation is key. If you want to draw in a specific style, then study other works in that style. Then just practice, practice, practice.

That's all you're going to get from a class. They'll show you examples, and give you homework so you practice. Both things you can do on your own, for free (or cheap if you buy books and materials, obviously) as long as you have manga/an internet connection to look up pictures for study.

I'm still waiting for you to send me those pictures!

 

Me, I'm about to braid some more hair today. Maybe even get paid for doing it! I hope so, I need bus money for school next week. ugh. Probably only gimme ten bucks, though. Somebody get me more customers...I could make some bank at this, if I had more people interested in me doing their hair!

 

DH you should come here....seems there are LOTS of mama's who don't know how to braid their kids hair. I'm getting them hitting me up all the time - it's sortof odd! (I don't cornrow at all - I mostly micro braid/double strand flat twist or twist)

I have to admit...it does make me grin a bit.

 

I can only do two kinds of braids (and only on my hair) french and regular (look like pippy longstocking kindof braids).

 

You obviously haven't partaken of the chili and lime chili versions of ramen...the spicier versions in the red and green packets are awesome (well as awesome as Ramen can be..LOL). It can rejuvenate ones interest in fried prepackaged carbohydrates

 

If it were around the corner I'd be there. lol I can do almost anything. Last week I did some zigzaggin rows in my homie's hair, in an hour or so I'm about to do some more for my other friend (I think, though he hasn't told me specifically what he wants yet). And as soon as I can afford some hair? I'mma braid it in and get me some extensions. lol

And there are plenty of moms around here who can't do their kids' hair, but they'd probably get offended if I mentioned it. I don't think they care that their kids' hair looks like shit. They certainly ain't trying to do better, or find someone else who can do it better.

 

haha...My pigtail's do that if I put em low on my head when I braid them.

pfft. Yes, I have tried them. I still hate ramen! read what I wrote, fool, and you'll see it's more about the reason why I have to eat them as opposed to the flavor!

 

I know...you talked about what ramen represents...but with spicy ramen...it can represent more my ginger haired sista...love the 'do...makes ya look "ethnic."

 

I hear yah sister, for the longest time I lived on "no name" (i.e. brandless) noodles and cheap watery soup.

I'm just tired of being poor as dirt. lol Like serious. I'm too fucking talented to be poor, I think!

 

Never did the ramen but when I was in school and poor, it was spaghetti. I could eat 3-4 days off a bag of spaghetti and a can of sauce.

 

I've become abhorrent of spagetti and other pastas for the same reason. -_- I replaced ramen with spagetti and pastas with tomato sauce for a while, and now I can't stand most pasta, unless it's really good. lol But if it's plain? ewwww.

 

you dont need to eat pasta all the time for cheap food there are more you can have that cost around the same still is simple but its a nice way for a change
