I'm not very familiar with Joey King. Is she well known. Does anyone know what movie or series she is popular for?
She has done some YA movies about the usual sexual coming of age stuff which incorporate comedic moments. She's on Netflix, Amazon and Tubi. The biggest movie that I am familiar with her was "The Conjuring" but she headlined Netflix's "The Kissing Booth" series of movies and "Summer '03". Hulu original movie "The Princess" was a well received medieval fantasy she headlined in 2022 if you care to check it out.
Things done changed, if I go back 15 years I couldn't have imagined all the BM/WW interracial there would be in movies and on TV. At this point i'm not surprised when any White actress has a Black love interest. It's common now.
Me too but I have seen the trailers for Joey's other aforementioned work. They just didn't interest me enough to watch them.
Speaking of Chloe, I just watched the movie Mother/Android for the 1st time in awhile and I went to check out what score it got on IMDB. It actually has a 4.9 which is super low!! I honestly think it's a bunch of racists that rated the movie becuz its not that damn bad. I gave it a solid 6, nothing amazing or anything but nowhere near a 4.9. It had to be some people who are salty about the couple lol
I remember really enjoying the beginning of the movie but I never did finish it. Wish it was rated MA and had more hardcore horror elements. I may go back to finish it this weekend.
Just read that Karen Gillan plays Chiwetel Ejiofor's ex-wife in The Life of Chuck. https://www.joblo.com/the-life-of-chuck-tiff-review-mike-flanagan-and-stephen-kings-latest/
Finally taking the time to watch the 2005 Romantic Dramedy Crime film "In the Mix" starring Usher & Emmanuelle Chriqui: Young Emmanuelle in this film remind so much of Nina Dobrev. So much so, I keep thinking that Nina Dobrev is female co-lead & have to remind myself that she isn't. Also Kevin Hart looks so much younger in the film, it took me a while to realize that's him playing Usher's DJ sidekick/associate.
THIS is exactly what I'm talkin bout! I know a lot of guys here also love the slow burn and the "will they or won't they" stuff, but I'd much rather see couples connect and have a good relationship. I was happy with this couple. We all like what we like I guess lol.
I myself am not a fan of the "will they or won't they" and I could deal with a slowburn as long as it's apparent. But in movies I am less irritated by it because you'll find out soon enough. With TV shows they have the freedom to drag it out for as long as they want. And a lot of the times as we know the whole "will they or won't they" and slowburns be smoke and mirrors leaving the Black Man just there to setup a love story between a white woman and a white man.
Lonnie, played by Daylin Willis, and Michelle, portrayed by Tess Atkins, have a strong bond that gets put to the test when Lonnie finds himself at the center of a murder investigation in "A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" (2024), currently streaming on Hallmark Plus and Peacock.
