I'll admit to slacking off on this thread quite a bit the past year. There has been info that I was too lazy to post and let others get around to learning of an IR sighting which they then posted here themselves. And there are still a handful of upcoming IR movies that I am aware of that have yet to be posted here at all. Hopefully in the next few days I can correct that. But tonight I am going to update you guys on one movie that technically isn't upcoming because it hit theaters this weekend.

    Last Night In Soho

    Thomasin McKenzie
    Michael Ajao

The story of this Edgar Wright film goes:

An aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something darker.

Based on heavy implications in reviews of this film when it debut at festivals over a month back, I knew there was some courtship going on between these two characters. But I wanted to see it for myself to learn how legit it was. Well, I got around to seeing it today and I can attest its legitimate. McKenzie is the lead character. Ajao probably gets the anywhere between the third to fifth most screentime. He is a thoughtful guy who becomes infatuated with McKenzie's quiet student character. Its a sweet romance that builds and they become kind of an item. Yes, there is kissing involved. There is even the start of a sex scene between the two of them in bed before something goes awry causing an abrupt ending of that. But trust me the two of them really like each other.

My quick thoughts on the movie is that it has more than its share of flaws in terms of the narrative. But its mostly engrossing, well-directed and well-acted. And it had a revelation I did not see coming. I'd give it a rating of at least a 6 out of 10.

For those who don't know anything about this movie or its tone here is the trailer.

Michael Ealy Joins Kristen Bell In The Netflix Limited Series The Woman In The House

Michael Ealy is set as a lead opposite Kristen Bell and Tom Riley in Netflix’s eight-episode limited series The Woman in the House, from Gloria Sanchez Productions (Dead To Me, Hustlers). The series is expected to premiere in early 2022.

Created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf, who also serve as co-showrunners, The Woman In The House centers around heartbroken Anna (Bell), for whom every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?

Ealy will play Douglas, Anna’s ex-husband. Bookish and pragmatic, he is still in love with Anna, but their past keeps them from imagining a future together. [IMG]

Yeah I had mentioned it in the movie thread. I seen the flick last night. It was pretty creative. I didn't care for the ending and the cockblocking(lol). But it was overall a decent flick.

I will repeat what I said a couple of years ago: there needs to be an IR hall of fame and KB gets to be the president. She has had two series-long IR tv relationships that were endgame. No cucking, no triangles and no bullshit. And that’s not all the IR on her resume. I will simply add this new one to the catalog.

Reading about his casting a couple of months back as well as the description of his character ,I wasn't certain he was a love interest. I wanted to wait because you know how they do when it comes to black men in Hollywood.

Has she surpassed Julia Stiles in total number of IR on-screen romance?

As far as I can find Julia Stiles has only two on-screen Interracial romance/relationship movies.

Here is a shortlist of other Hollywood actresses who have had at least two on-screen interracial sex/relationship/romance movies.

Kristen Bell (House Of Lies, The Good Place, others I can't think of right now)
Julia Stiles (Save The Last Dance, O)
Jamie Pressly (Ringmaster, My Name Is Earl)
    Ali Larter (Heroes, Obsessed)
Maura Tierney (704 Hauser, Primary Colors)
Lisa Kudrow (Marci X, Table 19)
    Margot Robbie (PanAm, Focus)
    Heather Graham (Cake, The Stand)
Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaids Tale, The West Wing)
Brittany Snow (American Dream, Harry's Law, Hooking Up)

There are probably a few more, this was all I could think of.

Julia Styles has at least 3. You forgot about that 2012 indie romcom film "Between Us" where Taye Diggs plays her Husband.

Also, Ali Larter ought to come off that list. She got her ir-partner fired, presumably because he was black.

    Jennifer Connelly( Shelter, Requiem)
    Elizabeth Berkley( Showgirls, NYPD Blue)
Lisa Edlestien(House of lies, Girlfriends guide to divorce)
    Sydney Sweeney(Euphoria, Nocturne)
Kristen Stewart(Seberg, JT Leroy, commercial with Chadwick)
    Rose Mciver( Izombie, Woke)
    Annalynne Mccord(Gun, Raising Kanan)
    Emily Meade( Twelve, The Duece)
    Anna Paquin( The Affair, Flack)

Probably more but that's all I can remember for right now
