It's funny how you get used to seeing your nails in a certain color. I normally wear reds and pinks. A few weeks ago, a friend convinced me to try a deep purple. It took days for me to get adjusted to looking at it. I like it now, but I'll always be a red or pink girl.

I never wear red, but I tried it recently and every time I caught a glimpse of my nails it startled me, made me think of blood dipped talons or something, it was unsettling. I made it a whole week before I had to change it. Then I tried a bubblegum pink color and it just made me think of porn, so I've dubbed it 'porno pink' and I won't be wearing that one again. After two fails I gave up on trying something new and painted them blue matte. I guess it's just what you get used to and what you think of as normal for yourself. It's like red lipstick for me, I like it but I can't wear it out of the house, I just feel like a hooker.

Hmmm, I also wear red lipstick most of the time. So, if you met me, would you think I'm a murderer, a porn star, or a hooker? :smt037

They are gorgeous. I have the blue, black and purple. Blues my fav, but the purple is really nice as well. Oh I bought a pistachio green OPI matte the other day too, but I haven't tried it.

The new OPI collection is awesome. I'm not sure which new color that I'm going to try. I have a pedi coming up. :D

Absolutely not! My daughter wears red quite often, and it looks good on her. I like it on everyone else, but I just can't make myself wear it out. It looks fine on me, but for some reason I just find it too startling.

I was just teasing you. It takes a little bit to get adjusted to the red lipstick. I wear one that is a brownish red. I love it. I think that it makes my teeth look even whiter than they are. I can't wear the traditional red. It turns pink on my lips, which I think is weird.

I feel the same. I am Irish/French/Welsh. I feel the red brings out redness/Irish in my complexion. I do wear it at night when I go out as in soft lights it seems fine. Just not in harsh daylight.

You do have to be careful with red, in general red lipsticks with a blue tone look good on most people and make your teeth look white. The yellow toned reds tend to make your teeth look yellow and only look good on certain skin tones. I have several that look good on, and if I saw them on someone else I'd like them, but I just can't wear them out of the house. I've been trying to desensitize myself into wearing them, but so far I haven't made it. I put them on, but they always come off before I walk out the door. What's funny is each time my kids compliment me on how good it looks in an attempt to convince me to leave it on, but it doesn't work. The last time I tried it, I wore it inside the house for about 20 mins before I couldn't stand it and took it off, and when I came out of my bathroom sans red lips, my son looked at his sister and said 'under 30 mins, I win, you owe me 10 bucks'. I'm apparently really predictable.

:smt043:smt043:smt043That is so funny that your kids do that. You definitely have to find the right red for your skin tone. I don't know how many I tried before they finally found a match for me at the cosmetics counter. Wearing it around the house is a great way to desensitize yourself to it. You should just try it outside the house once, and I think that is all that it would take. I know that I was a little concerned the first time that I wore it on whether or not I could pull it off. After having compliments all day about how pretty my smile and teeth were, it didn't take long for my concerns to disappear. Now, I don't want to wear anything else.

I have a natural redness to my skin, and I use a face primer that takes it all away. It's the best stuff that I've ever used. It just evens your complexion out. I can't stand how my makeup looks without it.

It's by MAC. They also have it with sunscreen, but I have a moisturizer that has sunscreen so I just buy the regular. It only takes a little. You just need to let it dry before you start doing your makeup. I normally put it on, then dry my hair. I absolutely love it.

    Who needs groceries? :smt042

Same here, I use BeautiControl tinted primer to tone down the red in my cheeks. I look like Santa Claus without it. http://shop.beauticontrol.com/webap...gId=-1&parent_category_rn=68114&top_category=

I also started using their lash conditioner about 6 months ago and it actually works. My lashes are considerably longer and thicker, and it doesn't contain prostaglandins like Lilash and Latisse, so it's safe to use, not to mention being about a quarter of the cost and a tube lasts about 9 months. https://shop.beauticontrol.com/weba...10551&storeId=10551&productId=62951&langId=-1
