I wouldn’t call it immature.. It’s different. For me, as an European woman, the american way of life, is hard. You live without a social net, what afraids a lot of people and creates a big competition- that’s how I see it.

I cannot talk for all European countries, but for the countries I lived in. Germany and Switzerland. Our political climate us social, sharing. We have to look that all citizens can live in conditions fit for human beings. It decreases crimal activities , hate of different nationalities or ethnic groups. We try to integrate, not to separate and -to support. Just a few examples:

Support:
-everybody has a health assurance
-if you are jobless, you get an appartment and one or two yrs 80% of your salary, afterwards you get social help, the amount belongs on your personal situation
-if a woman is pregnant, she stopps working in her 8th month, gets money for 7 months (full salary) and has the right to get back her job, within 3 yrs later
-you get automatically monthly money for your kids (between 220-310 US Dollar/each)
and and and....

This prevents that people are in such a panic and that they can be generous in thinking.
The second point ist integration i.e.:

-A foreigner gets a free of costs school to learn the language
-You receive an education to get a good job sometimes, so that you can pay taxes later, instead of living on our all costs
-statistics of ethnic groups are forbidden
and and and...

It’s not perfect, a lot of people abuse this social system, but it teaches to see humanity instead of money. And that I assume has its influence in many ways. Europeans are not in general better in any way, we just live a safer way

I fully understood your point and whether in the suburbs or on Newbury St. I guarantee that shit was an isolated incident or like in the vast majority of situations regarding racism shit happened but most if not all white people don't see it because its not happening to them.
Living in the suburbs and going to private schools has made me all too familiar with this scenario. Like making damn sure you're actions are in plain view of everyone so no one can ever accuse you of shit because let something go missing you're the first person your )friends" will think who did it. Dude its something so real that you'll never have to deal with so you might think nothing was going on but you cabt possibly know since you weren't that kid.
