this is all goblygook to me. what on earth is a torrent? mininova?

I use BtMon, isohunt, and used to use the piratebay, primarily. But I go to any torrent site. I go to torrentz.com, which is a torrent search engine.

 

It's kinda hard to explain. But A torrent basically lets you download content off the internet, that is shared on other people's computers. Mininove is one of the many sites where you can get the downloads.

Oh no, they got mininova! Btjunkie.com is still up and unmolested...probably the best I have seen so far.

I don't even use torrents anymore.

I just download direct links from forums, blogs, etc.

 

I wouldn't use Torrents if I were you...

I just use mydownloader.net to download all of my favorite files.

which one do you use now?

 

if I had to recommend one, id say thepiratebay.org

it gives you little icons so you know which uploaders are legit and trustworthy. Other sites dont give you that, so you're basically playing 'Russian Roulette' with your computer everytime you download something.

 

It seems like torrents are too inconsistent and tend to take a long time.

I hated dealing with that because you rely on others to seed your download.

 

Yeah, but some things aren't available through any source, besides torrents. Sucks.

I'm not big on movie downloads (although I love movies) but movies are the hardest thing to find online.

Torrents seem to be the most consistent source for them.
