HBO Renews Dune: Prophecy “Dune: Prophecy” has officially been renewed for a second season at HBO. This announcement was made during a virtual press event on Thursday, just days before the Season 1 finale, which airs on Sunday, December 22. Set over 10,000 years before Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune" films, this prequel series explores the beginnings of the Bene Gesserit—an enigmatic group of formidable witches who subtly shape the politics of Arrakis. Drawing from the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, the series centers around Valya Harkonnen (played by Emily Watson), the leader of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, and Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams), as they join forces against threats to humanity. As with the Zack Snyder take, Perry White will be Black. That's more than enough for the throwback contingent to label something as "woke". Also the fact Mr. Terrific will be featured in the movie, also an issue with these particular individuals.
You’re right. It doesn’t take much for those hurt feelings to surface. The show is excellent in my humble opinion.
