I absolutely hate the way Harley Quinn has been portrayed over the last few years. I hope this version doesn't cop out on her malicious insanity by making her just another victim of the Joker
Shadow and Bone: Season 2 Trailer Sun Summoner Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li) and Tracker Malyen Oretsev (Archie Renaux) have to hunt down two more mythical creatures who will amplify Alina’s powers in order to have a chance at defeating General Kirigan (Ben Barnes) and dismantle the Shadow Fold in the show adapted from Leigh Bardugo’s books.
I swear getting all of these got dam Riddler trophies is thee fucking worst. Over two hundred of them funky green bitches! Y’all just gon’ sit there and not warn me about that, huh. … lol
Truthfully I think they are trying to position Captain Marvel as the centerpiece or "leader" of the new Avengers. It should be War Machine, he is a Colonel (highest ranked of all the Avengers who were in the military) so he knows how to command and organize people for fighting, he has also been a part of the superhero community longer than most of the other heroes.
More than likely it will be either Carol Danvers or Sam Wilson that will be leader for whatever new incarnation of the Avengers that reform in the MCU. War Machine/Jim Rhodes has for the most part in the MCU been an official active duty military/government asset and seems to still be from the little we saw in Falcon & Winter Soldier as well as Secret Invasion. Depending on what ends up happening there plus the War Machine movie, his focus could be else where, especially if they do some version of Armor Wars in his solo outing.
Is he still on active duty? I would have thought with the injuries and disobeying Ross's order to arrest Cap, he would have been forced to retire. To me making Carol Danvers the leader doesn't really make sense when you consider that she has spent about 5 minutes of screen time as an Avenger, also Rhodey and Banner are the only people of the surviving/non-retired Avengers who teamed up with her during the Blip years, nobody else knows her at all. Also, her only qualification for the job is her strength, and that didn't win Thor or Hulk the job.
It's been 5+ years since the end of Civil War pus add in the status quo of the world government during the Blip that we fully still don't have details about, seems like he's still has some involvement with the military or government in some capacity. All the "rogue" Avengers clearly were pardoned for crimes against the state after the events of Endgame so whatever grievances between him & Ross also may be water under the bridge as well. I don't think it will matter who knows Danvers since it will probably be newer or different characters making up the next roster for the most part. Also we as the audience only saw her have limited interacts with the other Avengers, but again the unseen time during the Blip seems like she established relations with the surviving heroes between times she would return to space. Qualifications wise she is also military (Earth Air Force & Kree Warrior) and her experiences in dealing with extraterrestrials both as threats and as allies could be viewed as a plus in handling a diverse group of individuals.
Marvel Debuts New 20th Century Studios imprint for Alien, Predator and Planet of the Apes Projects. Marvel Comics is launching a new 20th Century Studios comic imprint for titles such as Planet of the Apes, Predator and more. Announced by The Hollywood Reporter, the new 20th Century Studios imprint launches in April 2023 with Planet of the Apes #1. Marvel's Alien and Predator series will also be a part of the new imprint in April 2023 and moving forward. "Ever since we announced our Alien and Predator comics, we hoped to create a special space within our comics line to go even bigger and bolder and keep building on the iconic moments from these properties that we all know and love," Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski said of the announcement. "This 20th Century Studios comics imprint, in collaboration with our friends at 20th Century Studios, is the perfect way to do that. Now that we’re bringing back Planet of the Apes again through classic comic book storytelling, we are absolutely thrilled to officially launch this imprint for the fans, and we’re all honored to expand upon it in the coming months." 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell added, "We’ve had a blast working with C.B. and his team and, as lifetime Marvel comics fans, it’s an honor to be a part of such an enduring creative legacy. We think fans will love the fresh takes on these beloved, iconic movies." Announced in June 2022, Marvel will begin printing new Planet of the Apes comics in 2023 after the publisher originally did so between 1974 and 1977. "We’re thrilled to welcome Planet of the Apes back to the House of Ideas!" Cebulski said at the time. "The new saga in the pipeline is going explore the limits of what this beloved franchise has to offer through bold comics storytelling, and we look forward to setting foot on this new adventure!" In Dec. 2022, Marvel announced the new Planet of the Apes series would be helmed by writer David F. Walker and artist Dave Wachter. The synopsis for the series' first issue reads, "DAVID F. WALKER & DAVE WACHTER BRING PLANET OF THE APES BACK TO MARVEL COMICS IN SPECTACULAR STYLE! A new era of apes kicks off with part 1 of “Devolution”! HBO Max's Canceled Batman Cartoon Lands Two-Season Order at Prime Video The Dark Knight will be parking his Batmobile at the Amazon Studios lot as Bruce Timm's animated series, Batman: Caped Crusader, has found a new home at Prime Video. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon has ordered two seasons of the animated series from Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams. HBO Max canceled the series in August 2022, along with several other DC Comics-related titles, such as Batgirl. Netflix, Apple and Hulu were also interested in acquiring the project before Amazon nabbed the rights from Warner Bros. Discovery. According to THR, the sale comes as part of WBD's efforts to "monetize content by selling projects to third-party buyers." Warner Bros. Discovery first announced development on Batman: Caped Crusader in May 2021. The series was said to delve into Batman's noir roots, with Bruce Timm's animated short Batman: Strange Days serving as inspiration for the series visual style. "We are beyond excited to be working together to bring this character back, to tell engrossing new stories in Gotham City," Reeves, Timm and Abrams said in a joint statement at the time. "The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman's noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters. We cannot wait to share this new world." In October 2021, DC unveiled a behind-the-scenes look at Caped Crusader during its second FanDome event. Award-winning comic book writer Ed Brubaker, perhaps best known for introducing the Winter Soldier during his seminal run on Captain America, joined the writing staff for Caped Crusader's 10-episode Season 1 in January 2022. "Here's something few people know, but the original Batman: The Animated Series was one of the things that made me want to write superhero comics in general, and Batman in particular," the writer said. He also offered more details on Timm, Abrams and Reeves' vision for the show, calling it a "slightly more pulpy take on the character, and a new way of looking at the world of Gotham, set in the past but viewed through a modern lens." Following Caped Crusader's abrupt cancelation in August 2022, reports surfaced that the creative team would be shopping the project to other studios, with Apple, Hulu and Netflix emerging as the early frontrunners to acquire the property. In September 2022, Amazon joined the list of contenders. Amazon also controls the television rights to The Lord of the Rings, whose film rights are still held by Warner Bros. Discovery. In January, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn announced that he and fellow DC Studios head Peter Safran were looking to populate the DC Universe with actors that could play the same characters across all mediums, including movies, television, animation and gaming. With Caped Crusader moving over to Amazon, however, it is unlikely that the same rule will apply to its voice cast. No release date or cast list is yet available for Batman: Caped Crusader.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Is Set Across Five New Universes On every level, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a dazzling piece of work – but especially when it came to those eye-popping visuals. The world of Miles Morales and his multiversal Spider-pals looked like nothing audiences had seen before, not just subtly tweaking elements of our own universe (anyone fancy a Koca-Soda?) but presenting it all with tangible comic-book textures and impressionistic flourishes, giving the film a distinct and daring identity. Now, given the success of that experimentation, things are about to explode in the boundary-pushing sequel Across The Spider-Verse, which doubles down on those unique choices and ups the scope considerably. “Our contract with the audience is to bring them something they’ve never seen before,” writer-producer Christopher Miller tells Empire Magazine in the world-exclusive new Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse issue. And they’re going all-out to make sure they deliver on that promise – creating a follow-up that spans five different universes. “The first film was about bringing characters into Miles’ dimension,” Miller explains. “This is about Miles heading off into others.” While Into The Spider-Verse gave us brief glimpses of the worlds inhabited by Peter B. Parker, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, and more, the sequel will spend real time in a bunch of dizzying dimensions. “Each world is a robust place,” says Joaquim Dos Santos, who directs alongside Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. “We’ve essentially made five films in one.” There’s Gwen’s Earth-65, with its distinctive watercolor palette; the India-inspired Mumbattan (see the exclusive image above, plus Empire’s subscriber cover); Nueva York, the home of Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O’Hara; the punky New London, inhabited by Daniel Kaluuya’s Spider-Punk; plus a secretive fifth dimension that’s being kept tightly under wraps for now. “It goes hard,” promises writer-producer Phil Lord. “The visuals will be jaw-dropping.”
