The Gripe Corner; All Join In!!

Here's a gripe. I had this happen to me yesterday.

I was fairly crabby yesterday and feeling down about my situation and I sent an email to 2 of my female friends - we email back and forth throughout the day just about every day.

I specifically said that I just wanted to rant/vent. That's it. I didn't need nor want advice. Anyway, so they start giving me advice and ideas. My one friend says this:

Not to be a bitch, but....

Don't try to dress up your bitchy comment by saying you're not meaning to be a bitch. Yeah, ya are meaning to be a bitch. It's quite apparent by what followed after that phrase!!

Anyway, so I ended up sending them an email saying, thanks for the ideas, I wasn't looking for them. I just wanted to vent. I'll figure it out on my own. I haven't hear from them since. LOL.

I'm sure they were busy emailing amongst themselves about me. Typical females. That's why I like men better.

I read a quote once from Dr. Oz that I thought was amusing. He was discussing what being married to his wife had taught him and he stated that he had to learn to listen and not try to fix everything for her, he said "when men vent they want someone to fix it, when women vent they just want you to listen". That's actually pretty accurate.

Sorry your friends tried to be helpful instead of just listen Bookie.

They weren't even being helpful. The one told me to "suck it up and just do it", and it was just condescending to me.

If I want advice, I'll start out by saying something along the lines of, hey I need your guys' advice on something. If I just want to vent, because I feel stuck, but I know the answer, I just can't make it happen yet, then just be supportive. I don't need to be talked down to like a child and told what to do. I didn't lose my brain cells along the way. I'm not an idiot, ya know? I mean, really. WTF purpose does this statement make other than to just be a complete and utter bitch to a friend who is feeling pretty lousy about her situation:

Really? Thanks for the news flash. Go f*ck yourself, is what I wanted to say to her. I showed considerable restraint by NOT saying that to her and thanking them both for the ideas and leaving it at that.

I'm not a moron. I know that I have to do something to better my situation. I was feeling frustrated at life yesterday and I just needed some place to release some feelings (I do it too much here, LOL), and instead of trying to make me feel better, I get bitchy comments back to me and condescending emails treating me like I'm a child.

Anyway, rant over. LOL. I need a f*cking vacation. I'm on the verge of taking off and never looking back.

It's rude to be condescending to anyone, but it's just really not appropriate to a friend in need of some cheering up. I think some people just don't know how to deal with anyone who isn't all sunshine and bliss all the time. That's why I just try to keep my frustration to myself, besides it tends to scare people I know if I appear to be even slightly human. :smt042

You'll be vacationing in about a month with supportive, sweet friends... just keep whispering 'Vegas' to yourself.

 

That's the only thing keeping me going right now. LOL. I so can't wait for Vegas!

I try to keep things to myself as much as possible, because I don't want to be one of those Debbie Downer types, because I'm normally not like that.

But when I'm so frustrated that I just need to let it all out, then I should just write an email to myself instead of burdening other people.

Anyway, gripe over. I think I need to get my booty back on the pill. Ever since I took myself off of it, I've noticed I'm more moody, especially around PMS time. (Sorry for the TMI. LOL!!)

 

Well really it'd be nice to have people you could vent too, everyone just needs to vent sometimes. But honestly I just keep a journal and I vent there. That's partly because I just really don't trust other people with all of my thoughts, but it works, I always feel better once I get it out of my head.

I hope you have a great time in Vegas. Sometimes you just need something that hits the reset button.

 

That sucks that your girls were like that with you, Boobsworm. Some bitches are just waiting for a moment to tell you about yourself in some slick way. That's also why most of my friends are guys too, although I love my girl friends, but I can't deal with the attitudes that some women have. You just know who to go to next time when you need to vent.

 

My gripe is: A few weeks ago, I found a lot of spiders in a short time in my spot. Two of them were even in my bed. They were all small until I found a bigger sucker. So I had the exterminator come last Friday. Since then, I found 3 more and one was on my fucking pillow last night. I sprayed my own spray and I feel like I'm Spider Watch 2010. I mean, I rather have spiders than roaches or ants, but damn, not in my bed and not since they sprayed. Makes you think, what was the point? You're not my man spiders and you guys are certainly not my roommates.

 

**shudders violently** I DO NOT like spiders IB, I wouldn't be able to sleep if I found them in my bed... I walk around freaked out for the rest of the day if I find one on the floor, or the porch. Not that I like ants either, in general I'm not a fan of anything that can sneak up and get on me without me knowing it's there, but spiders in particular really freak me. You poor thing, I hope the spray kills every last one of those creepy 8 legged bastards.

 

Girl, that shit kept me up all night (and not for my normal reasons) and I finally conked out. I have to keep watching my back like someones out to get me...LOL They're so gross! The manager is going to call the exterminator again. I don't know if it'll help to spray again, cause he sprayed a lot. I'm going to go to Home Depot and see if they have something, cause this getting ridiculous.

OMG! Like Espy, I HATE spiders. If a spider is in my home and gets away, I'm a crazy lunatic until it's found and stomped deader than dead. And centipedes? OMG. I'd go to a hotel if one got away. LOL.

I've heard that Home Defense works great. Maybe you can try that: spray all along the floor boards, windows, doors.

If it was waiting for me on my pillow, egads, I'd sleep on the couch!! :smt026

 

I dont mind spiders at all...
In fact, I think they r great - keeps other pests away so I leave them be.

I do spray w home defense around the perimeter every 3 months or so tho.

 

I hate them four...lol

Thanx for the advice. I'll definitely pick some of that up. I'm surprised the exterminator stuff isn't working.

 

I haven't seen any other bugs, so I assume that's why they're coming after me...lol

That home defese stuff works great for me.. I live in an ant farm otherwise... since I started, I dont see any other bugs either.. just the occational spider - but Im afraid they are starving in here... giggle.

I don't see any webs or anything around, and then the 3 I found since the exterminator came, are all different types and they were all in separate areas, so it's hard to find a concentrated spot to get their asses.

 

Books and FG, I just realized that what I sprayed on my own after I saw the last spider WAS Home Defense Max. I guess I'm ahead of the game so far. At least I hope I am....

 

I heard that stuff was great, so hopefully it works for you. I'd spray the hell out of every baseboard that was in the place if it were me. LOL.
