It used to be true that conspiracy theories were equally distributed across the political spectrum; there were crazy anti-vaccine conspiracies on the left (I'm a nurse, this was definitely a thing) but then crazy moon landing hoaxers and climate change deniers on the right, etc. In the era of Trump, though, all the conspiracy minded people have herded hard to the right -- I can say, as a nurse, that anti-vax conspiracy people have all shifted hard towards Trump. It feels like education, perhaps even more than race (yes, I know some Black MAGA people, it's nuts) is the defining issue of our times. A good, generalized education helps you discern fact from fiction, and Trump's greatest "gift" is spewing an unending flow of lies.
There's a reason why Trump said he loved the poorly educated. Especially those that chose to be willfully ignorant. They are more easy to manipulate & control than people who are intellectually curious and chose to be educated about the world they inhabit in order to make it progressively a better place. Conservative ideology has proven itself to be a regressive & overall destructive way of life IMO. No growth or diversity on any level. Just conformity.
Dedicated to all the resident "proud patriots" who willfully chose not to understand how AmeriKKKa really works.
