That euphoric feeling is actually for real. I read a book written by a psychologist and she explained it. See this post I wrote about the book in the book thread. Basically it said that MRI of the brains of people in the early stages of love and insane people are similar. Andrae may go soft on us. :p Only in the love region of the brain Andrae.

Is there any biological benefit to being that way or is that kind of infatuation dangerous?

New love is only new for so long. Eventually you will settle in and all that misfiring in your brain will follow. So you should enjoy the first months because it won't last. :p

Keep it simple. When someone gives me an excessive gift too early I start to wonder if they are desperate and using gifts to sweeten things up. Give something meaningful or heartfelt. You can't go wrong there with a woman.

Good luck in your new relationship btw.

@ Espy: On this post "new relationship" is green and underlined twice and when my cursor goes over it an eHarmony.com advertisement/link pops up.

It's likely something like spyware or adware that causing it Britty, and a lot of that is housed on their server rather than your PC. Toolbars also cause this sometimes. If you are using Internet Explorer, try Firefox and if you see the same thing, you can download the Adblock Add On for Firefox and it should prevent that. Here's the FF add-on link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865/

Remember that whole flu shot thing from a couple of weeks back? My coworkers had tried to bribe me into getting a flu shot and I was having none of it. I said, I get colds, the flu shot doesn't do anything for colds.

Anyway, at one point I told my coworker, I know i just jinxed myself.

What do you know, last night, I started to get a stomach ache and today, I took a 1/2 off of work and slept for 4 hours. I have a very slight fever and I haven't eaten anything all day. DAMMIT!! LOL. :smt009

I hope u get well soon Bookie! :)

:( I almost never get that feeling, everyone is pretty much take it or leave it with me. Only once have I felt a connection, and been really drawn to someone right off the bat.

I was wondering something... do you think we can get butterflies when seeing/being with people we are just in like with? uhm.... my body had weird reactions to a guy's presence lately and it kind of never happened to me before, either with my 5 yrs-long love. The fact is that I know that guy isn't what I want/need so WDF? lol.

I thought butterflies were always an attraction thing Arwen. But then I rarely get butterflies even in the presence of people I am attracted to, so who knows. But you can definitely be attracted to someone who isn't at all what you think you want or need.

1. Arwen - You're looking fantastic in your new profile picture. Love the smile.

2. This morning, I felt my heart stopped beating while I was sitting in my vehicle, parked near the library on campus. Felt too tired and weak, so I took an hour long nap, but noticed that my body wasn't moving when I tried to get myself out here. So, I kept hearing my own voice in my head telling me "Don't fight it. Just let it go." Well, it only lasted around a minute and then I managed to honk the horn and wake myself up.

Story of my life.
