Describe media hype. Out of 50 cents and Kanye, Kanye got more media hype for saying the president doesn't care about black people. There were many black people buying his cd because of those comments. I didn't see 50 cents any where back then. He also got media coverage for talking about taylor.

are you talking about taylor swift? that was kanye that jumped on stage and made a fool out of himself yet again...which is why he now does not get invited to live television shows...he is a live wire and no one ever knows what is going to come out of his mouth

Media hype in the sense he was heavily anticipated and paid attention. The kayne thing was good for about a week just like the taylor. Fifty was the only rapper spoken about or thought through out all of 2003. Then coupled with his beef with Jarule nothing else was going on in the rap community.

Yes, but mtv knew who he was. THis was not the first time he did something like this on mtv. They wanted the ratings. They got the ratings as well.

I love Suga Free. He degrads women like hell, because he used to be a pimp, but damn if I don't laugh when I play him.

Kanye was going to pass 50, either way. He's one of the most succesful producers of the 2000s, plus he makes pop sounding tracks, as well as hip-hop tracks.

Lets not get it twisted though, by no mean are the likes of Common, Roots, Blackmoon, Gangstarr, etc as hardcore/violent/grimy as Tupac, Eazy E, too Short, etc, but those so called "positive" rappers have and do have their moments when they spit like rappers(more grimy in nature) vs hip hop (more positive in nature).

This is my kind of lyricist. I've switched to underground white boys for my hearing pleasures. The song starts 1:10 minutes in.
