I predict this thread will soon be become:

"Weed shouldn't really even be considered a drug, and here is my statistical proof"
Weed makes you paranoid

I am sorry but anything that requires you to ingest smoke into your body is not good no matter the so-called scientific evidence of it being beneficial![]()
Then eat or drink it sir
Then eat or drink it sir
Wish I'd thought to say this.
If my job allowed, I would ingest. Lol
that's what synthetic urine is for....
I can't risk a damn thing when I comes to my job. It's been good to me!

So., I'll help it along the way.
Considering I'm an irresponsible weed head, I truly believe this conversation boils down to acceptance of what society or government tells us is Ok or acceptable. I think the alcohol prohibition comparison is an extremely fair comparison in favor of the 'weed heads', especially considering that alcohol is a substance far more likely to cause people to act irresponsibly than marijuana. Also, for the most part, synthetic medicines that we are so quick to pop into our system seem to be frequently proven to be far more dangerous to our health.
The country is coming around and eventually we'll hear terms like 'weed heads' and many of the stigmas that are associated with marijuana will go away. Just like when the gubment told us alcohol was Ok.
I've yet to hear an argument on why marijuana should be illegal that could not also be applied to alcohol and / or tobacco. However, I think very strong arguments could be made as to why either of those substances are better candidates for prohibition than marijuana.... add to that a handful of pharmaceuticals.

Ha, right! Weed won't do shit for you when you lose that job.

I'm not judging weed heads at all. I think there's a place for medical marijuana, and I agree there are very strong arguments to ban alcohol and definitely tobacco products. But weed is illegal in a lot of places and now some states are considering random drug testing those in my profession. Totally not worth it in my opinion.
But I do consider smoking weed as unappealing as smoking anything else and wouldn't want my lungs exposed to that if I can avoid it. Just my opinion.
I've been on fishing trips with surgeons who snort cocaine like it's oxygen. I'd be far more concerned with one of them going into the operating room coked up after a late night than the casual marijuana smoker.
Frankly, I think all "drugs" should be legalized. I take a similar stance to women who feel that the government should not be all up in their uteri with regard to abortion. While I have no intention to do any other.,. uhm.. 'drugs', I do not feel that it's the governments place to tell me what I can and cannot ingest into my body. I feel that I should be held accountable for my actions even while under the influence, much like nobody is going to jail for drinking but driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offense (unless you're a Hollywood celeb).

Probably, but the vast majority of smokers do not even pretend that it's for medicinal reasons.
If I have a headache or migraine, I'll probably smoke long before I take advil or tylenol, mainly because I have little to no trust for Western synthetic medicines.
As TDK pointed out, there are alternative ways to ingest this highly dangerous substance that are perhaps less harmful on the human body. Personally, I prefer to vaporize and I generally pair mine with a legal drug called Merlot.

If individuals making decisions that has potential to fuck up ones life as well as the lives of others is a crime, then the jails should be full already.
We should all be free to make decisions about what we want to do with our own body, no matter how stupid those decisions may be.
