I heard an interesting point made on a community forum in Detroit from 9/7/2013 re-broadcast on C-SPAN tonight: they have tons of money to save the Big 3, supposedly the primary drivers of Detroit and the Upper Midwest's employment picture, but no money to save Detroit, even though the automotive industry's screw-ups are far worse.

Might as well just nuke the whole place while we are at it.

I wonder if the oil companies will cry once we run out of oil.
If they weren't a bunch of buttmunchers concerned with profits now, they would see that oil is indeed going to go extinct and when that happens all of the beloved profits will be in alternative sources of energy.

What a bunch of near-sighted buttmunchers.
 
words...so powerful so controlling they can lift spirits and kill dreams. they are so easy to dispense, they are used to accentuate or disguise. they can be disgusting...satisfying....tasteful....wasteful....beautiful...ugly. Now ACTIONS are like the BIG JOKER in the game of spades....its the only guaranteed book. be a action seeker, words with no action are like an empty cup when your thirsty.

I don't know how I feel. I can't feel bad for the dad. He did what any dad would do. Protect his kid. He didn't know that the guy had down syndrome.

Down syndrome or not ,....the father has to get a pass for his immediate impulse protective reaction.......On the other hand,...If the relatives in control of a mentally challenged adult is confident enough to take him out in public at the risk of him kicking a strangers kid,.. then they must be ready to absorb shocking consequences......
 
If he has that sort of impulsive behavior, they should have had someone right on top of him. It's sad, but I totally understand the father.

Argh back in the dating game again lol.

Have coffee next Wednesday with some bloke and dinner and drinks with another the following Wednesday. Dinner and drinks guy has tickets on himself and likens himself to denzel, so of course I'm playing it cool and unavailable. I don't think he's ever had a women do that to him before...very amusing
 
Has tickets on himself = Australian slang for having a high opinion of oneself.
