What's going on is rampant racism. I'm not denying that. Living here in the US has shown me how much racism is really alive and well. It's not nearly this bad back home. But if you think women are in any way shielded because they are white, I would a million times disagree. I knew this conversation would become a "who has it worse" situation as soon as I wrote it. But I am trying to speak my mind, trying to open up here on this forum and contribute something of substance. I knew I'd get shot down by several posters for my opinion. But there it is.

Stop it no one is shooting you down just challenging your opinion. It's a discussion its allowed and I've seen first hand where being white shields people from persecution. I'm not saying it gives you protection from all negative things but all things being equal especially here it affords you privilege. No one is going to follow you around a mall deny you a job or loan based on your race. Do I really need to start posting what would you do videos? Lol

When I had joined the military, this is what I saw on the list of jobs that I was allowed to do: It was a big list, most of which was blacked out with thick black marker. When I asked why those jobs were off limits, they literally told me it was because I am a woman.

You are correct, I'll more likely get turned down because of bad credit than race. But someone would follow me down the mall and rape me in the car park. And you are correct, I'm much less likely to be stopped and frisked, but much more likely to die at the hands of my husband.

And I'm much more likely to worry that this first date is going to end up with me in a bloody heap in a back alley than I worry he'll look fat naked.
