I think once Colorado legalize same-sex marriage and loosen some abortion restrictions, we could see that happening. But I'm fairly skeptical since Colorado's more libertarian leaning than anything else.

I also read an article on MSN that some married couples would find cheaper health care options (subsidies) by getting divorced. LOL. What a fiasco this is....and he knew about people losing their plans all along.

Read Sir....The number is up to 4.2 million as of today and projected to climb to as much 100 million through out 2014.
The insurance companies just cannot continue to carry their former customers and stay in compliance with the rigid mandates in the new Obama-care bill.......
The master-plan is to force young and healthy working Americans who pay but never file a claim out of their niche and into to paying into a common resource pool with unhealthy and poor Americans....European-style socialism at its finest……

 

i cant hardly wait, not that it matters when i am in cali but it would be nice to travel and have less care than i already do.

My employer's plan meets the mandates so there was no need for me to go to the marketplace; however, our premiums were estimated to go up 40-60%. We dodged that by moving our renewal from Jan 1st to Dec 1st. We lose a month in this deductible year, but we won't see the dramatic hike in our premium. This year.

 

Colorado approved same sex marriage in may of 2013...i'm not sure what you are talking about when it comes to abortion but I can tell you that in our state planned parenthood is alive and well with many high profile supporters

 

personally I think this is a good move for Colorado...this is going to give the state money it needs to be more self sufficient...amazing what it is doing for the economy overall...as a mother of a son that smokes pot I will rest a little easier knowing that he isn't going to be arrested...law enforcement here is backing away from this issue...they are focusing on meth is a big way

It was actually civil unions as of May 1, 2013 that were granted to the people of Colorado. Same-sex marriage, according to the Colorado constitution, is still banned in that state.

I don't see any issues with these abortion guidelines...

I would much rather live here than anywhere else...yes we have conservatives but the majority live in outlining counties of the state...other than Colorado Springs which is a bible belt in the state...

Hence I stated they are pretty relaxed. So, yeah...those are very reasonable guidelines.

As for the civil unions vs. civil marriage debate...with unions, prior to the DOMA repeal, unions weren't recognized under the federal government, so if their spouse dies, the government would be able to collect back taxes from the living partner since they weren't protected under DOMA. Now that it's repealed, we could potentially see marriage equality in your state.

But what's the likelihood of it being passed anyway? Hard to determine at the moment.

 

I appreciate the effort thank you but two of the stories are identical like the same exact story and the Forbes article lost all credibility with me by using a Fox news clip to back up its assertion. I guess I'll have to wait for the Economist or the CBO to do independent studies to get an unbiased opinion.
