I seriously *don't* think it was meant as a joke, m8.

That was (and *is*) as serious as a hollow-point, sodium cyanide-infused bullet through the brain....

Look all around you in the Stateside urban/inner-city areas...what do you see and hear?

    DAILY!!!!!

    THINK about it.....

It definitely had a sarcastic tone to it and I never said where can I find a place where people call me that I said I'd rather everyone have the freedom to call me that rather then lose my freedoms.
    Keep up m8

I *did* understand what *you* said...

Still and all, do you not concur that there is, sadly, more than a 'grain' of truth to my point about Stateside inner city/urban environments, and the usage of said epithet therein?

Regardless of what xoxo's point may or may not have been, it's nevertheless sad.

    Sad, yes.....but true......

Why is it sad? The way they use it isn't derrogatory. Words only have the meaning we give them.

There are oodles of Black Americans of prior generations....who fought, bled, and died for *all* the basic freedoms, dignities, and overall respect that EVERYONE deserves....who SHALL beg to *differ* with ya on that point, m8.

    'Nuff Said.

That's another debate, but I disagree with that, as many other Black people do.

The people who fought for civil rights the right to be treated fairly. That doesn't go away because someone calls you a bad name. It's funny that we get mad at the word nigger but no one gets upset with the word motherfucker which is far more hurtful in my opinion. It's the term slave owners used to call slaves that were forced to have sx with their own mothers in order to make strong slaves. To me that word is a much bigger reminde of something painful but people aren't up in arms over shit like that. You know why because we CHOOSE what we're offended by.

He was out-of-line with the remark considering the position he bears amongst those students.

All I'm saying is they don't take offense to it. Isn't up to the individual to decide if they're offended by the word.

You can make that choice for yourself but do you believe you should control what others say and think

When I'm with my homeboys we call each other "Nigga". So what is the big deal? In the school where I attended which was integrated blacks called each other "Nigga" all the time. I took pleasure in watching the faces of the whites and hispanics when they hear blacks call each other "Nigga".

Apologies if I sound facietious in what is otherwise a vital topic..But, can't help but think of the houmourous bits about Space Corps Directives in the classic BBC programme "RED DWARF". Things like:

Space Corps Directive # 32124 : No officer with false teeth shall attempt oral sex in zero gravity.

    And things like these....

    Just sayin', m8...............
