Is sounding "white" a turn off?

It does for me, if the rest of the equation is right. It's certainly not the end all, but I do find certain voices sexier, and usually they belong to black men. But then again, a sexy voice is impossible to blanket, because sometimes what makes it so sexy is it's uniqueness.

Any detail like one's voice, or other physical traits, is generally a bonus in comparison to the big picture. I fell in love with my boyfriend for who he was, not how he talks, or his cute lil butt. I could listen to him talk for hours, though, if he would (he's not a big talker), but I would never go so far to say that any one part of him is what attracted me to him. It was everything all at once. Just as with any interaction with another person there are things about him that I don't like that much, but the impact of those habits is minuscule, which is why I wanna keep him. lol

As for exes, I was attracted to both of them for different reasons. Attraction is just something so hard to really nail down, because, unless I'm the only person in the world who feels like this (unlikely), then you can be attracted to different people for different reasons. There's no set pattern in my relationship history because with each new experience I reflect, and learn. While base attraction is something less intellectually controlled it is strongly rooted in emotion, and with every bad experience I simply want better things for myself, which affects the things I'm attracted to in others. Personality wise, at least. The physical is mostly a mere side-effect of the personality anyhow. Some people are pretty hot, but I would never consider that real attraction unless I actually got to know them and still liked them.

But that's just how I work.

Subjects like these tend to get old quickly because it always feels like people are trying to brighten the contrast on a very gray area. Most things in life don't fall into a dichotomous machine that neatly separates everything. Yet somehow we always seem to want to organize everything into perfect little labeled piles.

It is interesting to ponder, though, and I'm actually considering doing a small survey thing with voice clips. hmmmmm.

it probably depends on the individual woman. if the brotha grew up in predominantly white neighborhoods, environs-he will speak like the natives and they probably will accept him. thats just my experience
