Exactly. Would not be surprised if most of those individuals were Republicans. The wiring in those mindsets is that any negativity or hardship in life is your own fault and you should be the one to get yourself out no matter the circumstance. It's incredibly individualistic and clings to the mythos of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps even though very few of them truly did it. So people are a non factor especially the ones who don't share their similar lifestyle.

 

Bootstraps are meaningless if you have no boots. And how can you pull yourself up by them if your back and kneecaps were broken right before they told you to reach for them?
