sharks water where u cannot see the ground and sometimes new social situation, when I don“t know the social code
It makes no sense to be afraid of death as it is unavoidable. A few weeks ago I was driving past midnight in another city through a high crime area known for its murders and assaults. I thought that despite the fact that many people had been killed on those streets, there was no reason to assume death was any nearer than if I were driving through a posh area of Los Angeles. I even stopped for a (very large) slice of pizza. Spiders and other types of insects are unattractive, but that's just the aesthetic prejudice of a human being. There is no compelling reason to fear spiders, even those that can cause necrosis. We live in a society where medicine mitigates most of the incurable diseases. Although we can make unwise decisions (smoking, unprotected sex) that may lead to unsavory consequences, I try to know the odds and proceed accordingly.
But what if it's a sloooooowwww agonizing death brought on by the bite of a killer spider and medicine was unable to cure it?? But, I do agree about death, no one can avoid it, so why be afraid of it? You have a healthy way of looking at things....
This thread topic seems familiar. Anyway... Fear is a choice. And I choose not to be afraid. The worst thing that can ever happen is you die, and so what? Depending on your belief, this is either a good thing, or you won't know about it anyway... Pick a fear, confront it, overcome it and then become a more resilient person.
1. Birds 2. People who don't blink 3. Dolls-especailly Chuckie and Bob the Builder 4. Clowns Yeah, I'm weird
That's not very weird, don't worry Clowns are terrifying. When I was little, one of my best friends had loads of clown dolls in her room. I could never sleep over, it was terrifying.
Another bird fearer. People make fun of me hating birds but no one ever said fears were supposed to be rational. Nobody asks me to watch their pet birds either. Answer is a definite no.
Bob the Builder is a friendlier version of Chuckie, plus he comes with his own set of tools that could be used to kill someone.
I am scared of heights. My biggest fear is bridges. I shudder every.single.time I go over a bridge, no matter how many times I've been across it before. I've always had a slight fear of bridges but once I had children I spent too much time thinking about how on earth I would get them out of car seats and to the surface should I experience a bridge collapse.
