Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves to preserve the republic, not because he thought slavery was wrong. He was very much a man of his time because he subscribed to and spouted virulently racist attitudes and beliefs about black people. His plan for the feed slaves was repatriation back to Africa, he did not want us here. He did the right thing, emancipation, for all the wrong reasons. Long story short, he was a hugely flawed human being as well as a visionary in some respects, it did take a huge effort to lead the country through the civil war, but as a black man, any respect I may have for his performance is far outweighed by my disgust for his attitude towards us.

    I wouldn't doubt that..

some rappers (like RZA, from Wu-Tang), speak about some really deep stuff..

if you listen to some of his lyrics, they'll make you think

    NAS too..

that's why some people still bump his stuff, and not this other rap that comes out...

The rap and hip-hop music that makes you think are now overshadowed by the type of music that disrespects black women and the gangsta/playboy lifestyle.
