Every February Yosemite waterfall turns to 'lava'

Photographers wait, as if for an eclipse, until the moment when the sun and earth align to create a fleeting phenomenon....

...This marvel of celestial configuration happens in a flash at sunset in mid-February — if the winter weather cooperates. On those days the setting sun illuminates one of the park's lesser-known waterfalls so precisely that it resembles molten lava as it flows over the sheer granite face of the imposing El Capitan.

This looks like something straight out of that movie "The Predator" the 1st one. This is exactly what things look like through its eyes. Cool!:smt001

Yeah, you right. But this was the Predator vision when looking at everything else. When it saw the human body, that's when it see infrared images.lol I hope that makes sense.:)

Maybe its vision wasn't as clear as this pic, but it's very close.

    What is this kuno?

It evokes the same feel as going to the mtns. in the fall and driving through a tunnel of bright yellow aspen trees. I told a friend you get the feeling you are dead and don't realize it because it's such a surreal color.

    Aspens:

    Sounds divine.

This is Spring time in a garden forest, either on private land or used by the community it belongs to...I don't know where it is though...it's would feel like it's a fairyland to walk through there.

How beautiful.....imagine the awe driving or walking through any of them, particularly that second tunnel-like one....it looks exactly like you described.

Zimbabwe, S Africa....Victoria Falls in background.

I have been here, at those Falls.. at the very edge....you get completely soaked just from its powerful mist, which you can see in the pic.
