Only a few people in my life know my true feelings, some suspect but few outright know. I usually try and keep that private, it could lead to problems especially because I have a prominent presence in local activism.
I know what you mean. I have witnessed self-appointed black nationalists attempting to discredit and de-legitimize anyone working to improve conditions for black people or any other oppressed people due to "insufficient Blackness".
Not prominent in local activism myself but I’m the same with only a few people truly knowing. I’ve always had the mindset of it’s not anybody else’s business
