Ha... I'm the same, I have a lil bit of the edgy thing going on, piercing, tattoos, my clothes. One of my girlfriends even said she's shocked by how much attention black guys give me. I was talking about it to a black guy the other day and he said I don't look like I'm into black guys either, I look like a "rocker chick".

    Interesting thread.

From a male point of view, I think we like ALL types of white women, but for 1 reason or another don't think those various types like us. I'm talking all: tall, short, slim, overweight, blonde, brunette, red head, beauty queens, punk rockers, professionals, poor, rich, etc. etc.

In other words, if she looks good, there are black guys who will find her attractive...

But some guys limit themselves on the type of ww they approach, or see themselves with. And some ww think bm won't like them or their type.

What I've learned is you never really know what that woman is thinking when they look at you:

Does she feel fear and anxiety?
    Revulsion?
    Curiousity?
    Attraction?
    Nothing at all?

Some guys automatically assume if a ww looks at them she's not looking at him as a potential partner 99.99% of the time. I say that because I used to think that way...

And another thing I've learned is all types of ww like black guys. The problem is they don't walk around with "I Love Black Dudes" t-shirts or tatts...

Or, they will keep those thoughts & desires on the low for various reasons: family pressures, don't interact with bm on a regular, etc.

There are some really pretty women on this board, I'm sure some of the guys here might have been surprised that some of them like bm.

And maybe once upon a time those same women didn't think bm liked them...

On average, guys approach the women they are attracted to. Some women don't like to approach men. They'd prefer the man to make that first move.

I don't think black men approaching white women is any different. It's not always about race IMO. It's about a man & woman being attracted to each other. People get too caught up in the color issue sometimes.

Yeah, she's white, but she's also a woman first and foremost. And women in general like the same qualities in a man: ambition, sense of humor, can hold an intelligent convo, physical attraction, etc. Those qualities are universal regardless of color.

But some people (bm and ww) disqualify themselves and won't even try to meet that ww or bm because of fear of rejection.

And what about the ww who's never been approached by a bm or never even considered dating one? What if he has qualities that she finds attractive but was never in a position to get to find out?

That's when the man should change his mindset and realize he haa a lot of good qualities that women find attractive, regardless of her race (or his for that matter...)

In other words, bm like all types of ww. It's up to us to let that ww know we find them attractive. You never know, she just might like that bm too! ;)

Thanks IB & Raul. It's like that old saying: "if a baby don't cry, the baby don't eat!". You gotta speak up and go for yours!

I have to agree with Cannon.

When engaging in an encounter where you have preconceived notions, those notions will determine the way you act and react to the scenario. As a whole, WW and BM like all types of BM and WW. Of course, as individuals we have personal preferences. However there is a fine line between personal preference and preconceived notion.

Taking the plunge, going for the approach, or whatever you want to call it is often the hardest aspect of getting to know someone for most people. The easy way out is saying that "he/she is probably not in to my type."

    Cheers

Fuck if I know...if I knew, I would have a 100% success rate with the ladies. I don't care either unless it's the one I'm attracted to, hopefully she's thinking I'm hot and wants me to get at her lol

don't be nervous honey, just go for it - I grew up in Kentucky but live in the north now - there are plenty of WW who very much like BM (including GRITS - girls raised in the south):smt039

that's true to a point; but it has been my experience that there are open-minded & close-minded people everywhere; IMO the south doesn't have a commodity on racist biggots, but generally they do seem to be more vocal, while with northerners it seems to be a bit more of the "hidden racism" - stuff I've seen in Michigan blows my mind...I used to work in a city hospital in Flint & did home visits, I've seen a lot of truly ignorant white people :smt119
