The piece was my first attempt at some mild interactivity. I basically created a very simple piece of software that contained pre-made graphic elements. The music is also from me. The software "listens" to the volume of the music and responds by moving graphics and other elements. i basically controlled scenes at the keyboard by switching back and forth. i dont remember what else might have been involved. it was my first attempt at this. so it is all digital with no stop motion or magnets. just some photo editing plus custom software. here's more info on it: http://processing.org/exhibition/
hi, just for those interested in the images i put up (i feel like a promotional whore now... sigh), I'll write a brief explanation: The series of work, some of which is here, http://www.behance.net/Gallery/This-Small-Part/98018 And here's one piece from that series: It was inspired by the bricolage, collage aesthetic of Vodou work and African art. I gathered objects and subjects that hopefully create an image thick in mixed metaphor. The image of the upside down Chomsky book was intended to simply be a part of some kind of alter. Putting them upside down is meant to "activate" the subject of the image. A bit similar to this image below: (this is not a photograph from me) I don't practice Vodou however so please, I don't want to see everyone pull out their crosses and shun me.
Just to update those that visited my art site - I've amended and added to the work previously displayed. Please have a look and tell me what you think. I'm always looking to improve and better define my work. Link here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/ZambArt Sample pics: Thanks, QB
My friend gave me so much jewelry making crap for my birthday, it was great. So here are some of the fruits of my labour in horribly cellphone picture quality! lol Feather and shell-bead pendant, glass bead earrings to match. Only one done so far, since this was a huge under taking. 5 individual chains of varying length with hand-set pastel pink pearl and silver bead danglies at the bottom of each chain. My first project, yet again I haven't finished the other yet. I wish the colours would show better, there are some silver and some pink beads on this chandelier style earring. I don't like gold, but I love this necklace. <3 Gold rope chain with a red glass bead and gold wings. Earrings to match. They're the same colour, but it didn't show well in the picture. The chain is the same rope used in the necklace, and there are also frosted glass beads and red seed beads complimenting the wings.
Click the following images to see the videos. They're rather small now, so it should be fine viewing them on even not so great connections. From Broadcast Design. horrible compression and typography screwed up my grade. Final from Broadcast Design. I rather liked it, but the hi quality version was 50MB. This is the ultra compressed version. Disappointing, but I was still proud of it.
Detail This is why I need a tablet of my own. I borrowed my roommate's for homework this weekend...and instead I painted this. ...so if anyone wants to buy me a Wacom Bamboo I'll love you forever. >.> Call it charity and get a tax write off for it! full size version available at disposableheroine.deviantart.com
Thanks love. Though honestly I wish I could upload the .tga file. .jpg makes everything so blurry. >.< But .tga isn't meant for sharing online, and I don't like .png so I'm stuck with blurry .jpgs. lol The print version for my physical portfolio will definitely be printed from a .tga, though. And I'm thinking of showing this one in the art show we've got coming up. My baby is trying his hand at organizing a student show. I'm so proud of him.
my first project for compositing class. Matte painting with photoshop. I like it, but it's not where I want it to be yet. It still has that "painted" feeling as opposed to the "real" feel it needs to be. I think it's good for my very first try, though. full size = http://disposableheroine.deviantart.com/art/Matte-Houston-151717821 click the small image for the full size version.
